Premier Inn Edinburgh A1 (Newcraighall)

The FO was very friendly and accommodating. Some staff in the restaurants were quite helpful, Although the staff in the restaurant were quite helpful, they were not too friendly, frowning most of the time (no customer service) and leave the food trays empty for so long. I hope that since they would know there are guests who are still going to have breakfast and already paid for it, they would be able to anticipate if they are needing to have the food cooked ahead so the empty trays will be replenished as soon as guests come in the restaurant. Bread area had been left without replenishing croissants and pancakes. Food trays were out of scrambled eggs, sausages and black pudding. Staff at the kitchen should know this. As if they were waiting for guests to just say "that's okay or that's fine" that there were no food left for them. It's a shame because we know some Premier Inn branches are not like this.

After stopping at many Premier Inns this is by far the best. From the moment we stepped through the door we were made to feel welcome. Angela is a fantastic ambassador for the company, took time to talk to us, even giving us advice on places to visit. Whole hotel was clean and quiet, lovely comfy bed. Will definitely stop again.

Great hotel, service and breakfast. Breakfast at this hotel is within the hotel and not the restaurant next door. I always find the breakfast so much better when provided within the hotel. Will definitely be back. Also, only a few minutes away from a retail park with plenty of food places and shops too.

We stayed at Premier Inn from Friday to Sunday but loved it so much that we ended up booking an extra night! The location was perfect, and everything about our stay was just spot on. The beds were incredibly comfy, the rooms were spotless, and the breakfast was delicious—exactly what you need to start the day. A huge thank you to the lovely ladies in the breakfast lounge, who couldn’t do enough for us, and a special mention to Wendy on reception. She was so helpful and friendly, making us feel truly welcome from the moment we arrived. We’ll definitely be coming back this year for another long weekend stay. We recently stayed for a little getaway, and let’s just say the experience was exceptional in every way. The room was spacious, the bed was sturdy (very important!), and the soundproofing? Let’s just say it did exactly what we needed it to. The check-in process was smooth, the staff were welcoming but not intrusive, and the hotel bar was the perfect spot to relax and unwind before heading upstairs for… well, more fun. The lighting in the room set a great mood, and the shower pressure was just right for a much-needed refresh afterward. Overall, a fantastic stay—we’d definitely come back for another intimate getaway. Highly recommend for couples (or adventurous threesomes) looking for a discreet yet comfortable setting.

Had most of what you can come to rely on at a Premier Inn good price and clean comfortable room. However my room was a bit more tired than I would normally expect as one of the lights wasn’t working and there was definite signs that damp in the bathroom had caused damage around the skirting boards which were rotting, however the room was clean. I was disappointed not to have a choice of decaf coffee and herbal teas in the room At breakfast the coffee machine wasn’t working and I was disappointed not to have the option of vegetarian sausages at breakfast possibly they are available if you ask for them but when you are in a hotel for work it’s good to have a cooked breakfast ready to go so as it was a self-service breakfast there was no waiting around for breakfast to be served so that was great. The hotel is close to a railway line and a road so it is rather noisy so I would recommend bringing earplugs. However it is very convenient for getting into Edinburgh as a train station is close by and it’s only a 10 minute train ride.
