A ÉVITER....

We booked our stay for June 2025, in January 2025 based on it being an air conditioned room Their website and all reservation services state that their rooms are air conditioned. Upon arrival the registration desk stated that they had no air conditioned rooms and had not had them for some time. We cancelled the remaining dates on our stay and found another location.

Favoured by Dutch travellers, the hotel is in a prime location for wandering around Delft. The staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast, albeit only continental, was ample and offered good variety. Our room was the garden room… its not in the main hotel but in an adjacent building which on wandering through, they seem to be in two minds about turning into a private residence or extension to the hotel, it’s still part under construction and decoration and the garden room is… a brick shed which they’ve done their best to turn into a nice room… and failed. It is very overlooked by other properties, although functional and almost comfortable, it needed a better clean, had no tea/coffee facility, despite having internet in the room, it didn’t work, and the door had had glass panels removed and replaced with wood, which didn’t fit properly, so there are bits of toilet paper stuffed in the holes… really? Yes. I’m afraid so. I suspect that the main hotel rooms are not the same, but I am afraid I would certainly not stay in the garden room again. The greatest selling point is the location, but sadly, despite the commendable effort of the member of staff who was there almost all the time, that’s where it really ends…

We stayed in the apartments next door to the main part of the hotel which were situated over a Greek Restaurant. Our room, 76B, was big and had almost floor to ceiling windows overlooking the canal and bridge offering a beautiful view. The room was clean and included a kitchenette and dining room table. It is a great location a couple blocks from the train station, on a canal, and just a block or two from the main action which afforded a bit of calm. The staff was friendly and since we left our luggage with them while we waited for the room to open up, they hauled our bags to the rooms. The breakfast was above average with hot scrambled eggs and a couple hot sides as well as cereals and breads. The stairs to 76B were steep and curved so consider whether you want to get this room. Although, my 77-year-old brother was in 76C which was on the third floor and he successfully negotiated the stairs.

Great spot on the canalside. Staff very helpful at check in and very friendly and helpful at breakfast. Room was very large but quite ordinary. Parking a problem, opted to drop off luggage and park outside the centre in a residential area. A very pleasant walk through the town and a saving of 60 euros as you have to pay a day rate at the machine. Parking machine only takes Maestro, would not accept my visa or mastercard anyway.

I made a reservation for DELUXE double room via ***********. The reservation confirmation was for a room in a hotel on the street: Oude Delft 74 in Delft. When we arrived, we got a room in the building next door, number 72, it was not even a building but a garden shed! Room was very small and totally cold (Middle of January). Warm water run out after 5 min. Walls were dirty. The heating (air conditioner) didn`t work at the beginning, and after half an hour the room was still cold. I wanted to cancel. At this point I did not trust it will work the whole night, and that I will not wake in the middle of the night in cold. Especially that former guests were apparently also cold because there was trash and toilet paper stuck in the doors. Then I spotted the BLACK MOLD, it was on windows, and on the walls. The staff wasn't very concerned about the black mold in the room, they downplayed the problem saying “it's humid, so It is how it is”. I wanted to cancel the reservation right away. A staff member said that this is not possible. I argued that this is not the room that I reserved, and nowhere during my reservation process said that this DELUXE room will be in garden shed. Lady was trying to force me into thinking that I made a mistake, and that I in deed reserved this room?! I checked reservation TWICE again, and it DID NOT HAVE anything saying about my room being in different location than Oude Delft 74. It’s a straight-up SCAM, FALSE ADVERTISING, and Health hazard! After I pointed it out, they offered a room in building 74, but only for ONE NIGHT out of 4 nights I booked. The remaining 3 nights I would have to spend, in another building, 200 meters from the hotel. I did not take this deal, because I could not see the second room. They rejected my cancelation, took all money. I complained to *********** they lied in their explanation, saying they gave me room in the hotel for the whole 4 nights. We did not stay there at all. Had to find another place. DONT STAY THERE! Additionally: no heater in the bathroom = wet and cold towels during your stay. Entrance was very slippery, through some kitchen under construction. There was a spider web on the wall. When we told about the black mold, the manager told girl from the reception to clean it with a ..... TOWEL. Have you seen someone successfully clean a black mold with a towel ? Good luck... this is the kind of service and health standards you will get in this place. Also beware *********** will not provide you with full compensation. This decision is totally up to the hotel. So if they do not want to give back your money you won’t get it. Booking com offered only 10% back.

A fantastic clean huge apartment with everything and great massive bed. Great views over the Canal with good bars and food everywhere. Although the stairs up to it are not for the faint hearted. We were self catering and made full use of the apartments excellent facilities.

The location of this place is perfect - a few minutes from both the centre and the station and over looking a canal. But it's so tired it can barely stand. We stayed in the 'house' which was really run down - flaking paint, dirty curtains - but the rooms were big. We had the top room and the middle room (they're all one on top of the other) which were generously sized but the eaves room was too cold. The top room was fine but smelled of drains when you opened the bathroom door. There was a room below us which permanently had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door which, when there are only three of you in the house, leaves you slightly freaked out about what was happening in that other room. The steps are very, very steep - the automatic lighting to the top room only works part of the way so you are left to navigate the rest of the steps in the dark and the only way to do that safely is to crawl up. Breakfast is EU10 - which sounds cheap but resist! I've never seen scrambled egg solid as a brick before with black bits in it. So, a first there. If all you want is a bed to lay your head on, don't mind rough and ready, the bed is comfy. If you want to leave your bags on flight day to fit in more sight-seeing, they charge EU5.

Located on Oude Delft, this hotel provided the ideal spot for easy access to the market square, a selection of restaurants, churches and museums. The accommodation was comfortable and the staff friendly. We were also able to walk to Royal Delft from here.

When I booked this room, I chose the Deluxe Double Room with shower which shows a room with two windows overlooking the street. I specifically booked this room to stay in the property where 1) the artist Jan Steen was reported to have lived and 2) to have a view outside of the canal. The room I was put in was a private apartment on the ground level in a separate building next door. This apartment was nice, with a private patio, but not at all what I expected. The room was clearly recently remodeled, but the fixtures are rather cheap, the toilet paper holder coming off the wall, the sink faucet loose, and the slope of the shower floor is away from the drain so that water gets all over the bathroom floor when showering. Also, the water tank is small enough to only allow for hot water for not even a full shower, so beware if you are traveling with more than one person when staying in this room, you will need to plan your showers accordingly. Although I was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked beautifully (I was there during a very hot spell), I was looking for a bit of history and sense of place and in the end, this room felt like any other hotel in the world, and not at all what was advertised in the pictures.
