Montauk Lodge ★★★

"Our fly fishing club comes to Montauk State Park every year for our 4 day outing in November. The opportunities for fishing are spectacular within the park. In November you are allowed to fish from 8am until 4pm. The lodge office is sporadically open at odd times, but they will make sure you can check in and/or check out. The restaurant has limited options but good entrees (with the exception of a side salad which is basically a small bowl of lettuce and shredded cheese). Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner only on Fri and Sat and on Sunday they are open until lunchtime in the winter. They also have an onsite fly/tackle store. We stayed in Cabin 3 which has 3 bedrooms (with 1 queen per), 1 large bathroom and a gigantic kitchen and living room. I think that the living room couches may also have had pull out beds. The kitchen was woefully in need of more utensils, especially if you had the maximum number in that cabin. Also, if you are in there, bring your own napkins and paper towels which it also didn't have. Reports on the lodge rooms were that they were a bit small but otherwise adequate for the group's needs for just needing a place to sleep and shower."
