La Petronilla Boutique Hotel Moganshan

Stunning place! The whole place is beautifully clean, has everything you need and well thought out. The pool is perfect to relax both in and beside. It is so helpful having such a great variety of food onsite, we didn’t leave once we arrived as the place had everything we needed! Beautiful walks to take on the doorstep. Loved sitting on the balcony in the evening as it’s so peaceful but also has a lovely vibe. The fire pit in the evening creates a lovely vibe. We will be visiting again, again and again!

We had an enjoyable stay at La Petronella Inn in Moganshan. The hotel staff is very helpful and speaks English. The breakfast and dinner were delicious and they have Western and Chinese options. The pizza was amazing. The hotel is conveniently located and has a beautiful view of the mountain and bamboo forest. The room was clean and comfortable and the bed nice and soft. The swimming pool is nice and clean and the sauna works well. The village is about a 15 minute drive from Moganshan village and the manageress organized a local driver to take us around. He was very helpful when taking us up to the Moganshan Mountain scenic area. There are many hiking routes and adventure activities to be done if you want to explore those options.

We stayed at this incredibly child-friendly boutique hotel for two nights, but honestly, we could have stayed much longer — everything was just perfect! The room design was clean, simple, and tasteful. The food was absolutely delicious, and every meal felt like it was made with care. What impressed us most was the balance between professionalism and genuine hospitality — the staff were always helpful, warm, and attentive. We left with wonderful memories and would happily return in a heartbeat. Highly recommended, especially for families with young children!

About the room: clean, really comfy bed. Shower was great (strong water pressure which was rare in mountain hotel). Coffee capsules were of good quality- handy when wanting to enjoy a cuppa first thing in the morning with a mountain view. Hotel location: quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of town centre which was perfect for a relaxing holidays. Local Chinese food restaurants were only 15 mins walk away. Easy to get Didi to go nearby town too. Also, it’s easy to get to multiple hiking trails in the area. Service: overall is fine. Staff was flexible and accommodating to meet guests’ needs. However, much improvement is needed for housekeeping as it was not done for one of the days during my stay and I had to ask for it at the end of the day. And water and coffee was not automatically replenished on certain days. Other than those minor incidents, the service and staff’s hospitality was good. Food: great breakfast. Restaurant menu was decent. But it will be nicer to have offerings like sandwiches for a light lunch option.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The environment is incredibly peaceful, perfect for anyone looking to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle. The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to offer great recommendations for things to do around the area. One of the highlights was the beautiful trails in the bamboo forest nearby – such a serene experience! I’ll definitely be coming back for another visit. Highly recommend!
