We stayed at Hotel Alba for 10 nights in July. The hotel is centrally located, just a 5 minute walk to the beach. That's about all I can say that's positive about it. I am a frequent traveller and I feel that this review is very honest. The negative points are as follows: 1. The hotel is not aimed at British holidaymakers, there were very few Brits at all, we appeared to be the only ones in the hotel apart from a small group of Irish girls. 2. The dining room is like a cattle market, people queuing for food and being elbowed and shoved out of the way by ignorant guests. We were all inclusive and only ate in the dining room 3 times in 10 days. I can only really comment on breakfast which really wasn't good at all. 3. The rooms are in desperate need of upgrading, we had dirty old brown carpet on the floor of our room, which overlooked Flower street, and we were kept awake by loud music often past 6am! On the plus side, the room was cleaned daily and our towels were changed often. 4. The photos on the website show sunbeds with cushions on them, this is not the case, the sunbeds are hard, white plastic ones which are incredibly uncomfortable, the pool area is too small for the size of the hotel and the pool is overcrowded. 5. There is no courtesy room to use on your final day, so if you are able to keep your room on, you have to pay a late checkout fee. If your room is booked, you'll not have anywhere to shower or change before your flight home. 6. The entertainment team work very hard but it's very repetitive, same things on at the same time every day and when they start at 10am every morning the music they play is deafening. 7. The whole hotel is in need of upgrading, the metal balconies are rusty, cracked tiles around pool areas, uneven surfaces and loose paving stones and weeds growing around the edge of the pool. Overall, we enjoyed our holiday in Bulgaria but would never stay at this hotel again as the website is showing a false impression of what it's really like - overcrowded, noisy and shabby.
