This was one of the worst hotel experiences we have had. My family and I arrived at approximately 3:00 a.m. after a 6–7 hour airline delay. We had a valid prepaid reservation, yet upon arrival we were told that our room had been released due to our late arrival. What made the situation even more frustrating was that the Marriott Bonvoy app still showed an active reservation with no indication that the room had been canceled or released. We were traveling with a kid and had already endured an exhausting day of delays. Instead of showing any empathy or attempting to help, the front desk associate immediately informed us that we could not be checked in (without bothering to check her computer). The interaction felt dismissive, and there appeared to be little interest in finding a solution for a family arriving in the middle of the night. After a lengthy discussion, we were eventually checked in around 3:30 a.m. The issue was not the airline delay - that was beyond the hotel’s control. The issue was the complete lack of customer service, empathy, and professionalism when dealing with guests facing an unexpected travel disruption. I have been a Marriott Bonvoy member for nearly a decade and was genuinely shocked by how this situation was handled. Being told at 3:00 a.m., after a day of travel chaos and with a young child in tow, that your prepaid room is no longer available is unacceptable. I would not stay at this property again and cannot recommend it based on this experience.

Love it!! It is in a prime location, close to everything and the subway, MARTA! This is are 3rd stay here!!

Smallest room I've ever stayed in. The curtains were half disconnected at the top and difficult to open or close. Evening reception was toast, some very small pieces of cheese, and a half cup of fruit. Breakfast was mediocre. They did let us check in early and the staff was friendly. The website said there is a restaurant but there is not.

I don't usually like traveling upp to Atlanta due to the high traffic, but this hotel's location was perfect and extremely close to everything I had planned for my husband's birthday weekend plans. The hotel was secluded in a serene quiet area. Beautiful decor and extremely clean, cozy and quiet rooms. The complimentary breakfast was the best I've experienced at a hotel. Everything was so fresh! I definitely will make this my hotel choice in Atlanta when I visit the area! Thank You! For a wonderful experience!

Clean room! However, cleaners need to just pay specific attention to dirt on light fixtures, doors and behind & sides of toilets.

I stayed a few nights at this Element hotel and it was great for my trip. Located right by the Dunwoody MARTA station and near plenty of restaurants and shops. My king room was spotless and the design was like other Element hotels. Only tiny thing that's a little annoying is there isn't a hook in the bathroom to hang anything, just the 1 towel bar on the shower door. Not a dealbreaker at all, but I don't get it because there's plenty of room for one that would match their design. Parking was an attached garage with a nightly fee. Easy access, had no problems with that. My room faced the MARTA tracks so I could easily hear the train when it went by. This sort of thing doesn't bother me, but if you think that would be an issue for you, ask for a room on another side of the building.

I am a long-time Marriott Rewards member and had this reservation booked for months. Unfortunately, this stay reinforced ongoing concerns I have had with Element properties, as this is now the second significant issue I have experienced with an Atlanta-area location. The first occurred previously at another property, when my booked rate was not honored and required escalation to resolve. This visit began with a confusing and poorly managed check-in process. Upon arrival, I discovered that the parking garage does not allow access to the designated hotel lobby entrance without a key card. As a result, I was forced to leave my luggage in my vehicle and walk around the block to the front desk to check in and obtain a key card. At the front desk, no one was actively assisting guests. When an employee eventually appeared, there was immediate confusion. While another guest was waiting ahead of me, I was asked for my name. I clearly stated that I was checking in and asked about parking, at which point I was told to “just bring your things down.” I returned to my car to retrieve my luggage, still without a key card, and returned to the lobby. When I reached the desk again, I provided my ID and was told it was not needed because I was supposedly checking “out.” I again explained that I was checking in, at which point I was told they had confused me with another guest. Despite it being after the stated check-in time, I was advised there would be a 15-minute delay and was asked to wait in the lobby, which I did without issue. A few minutes later, an employee approached me and asked for my name yet again, wrote it down, and left. Shortly after, they returned and I was informed there was no record of my reservation. I then pulled up my confirmed reservation in the Bonvoy app and provided my confirmation number. I was again asked to wait. When I was finally called back to the desk, I was told it would now be at least another hour before a room would be available. I was also informed that the only room option at that time was next to a commuter train that runs 24/7, and that “earplugs would be provided.” It was clear at this point that my confirmed reservation was not being honored. Waiting another hour was not feasible, as I had dinner reservations and concert tickets and needed to get ready. I asked whether I could be accommodated at a nearby sister property. After further delays while staff attempted to resolve the situation, a room was eventually found. The room itself was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the staff were polite. However, the check-in experience was disorganized, inefficient, and unacceptable, particularly for a loyal rewards member with a long-standing, confirmed reservation.
