The "breakfast buffet" was basic with very few options - this is why I stayed at the hotel and it left me very disappointed. Considering the price in Carlsbad, I wouldn't stay here again. There are other, newer and cheaper, options in town with the same basics - get breakfast at a local restaurant."

"So. This hotel was awful. First off there is construction going on all around it so there was an “alternative route” for getting in. Which was super confusing. Took you through quite a scary kind of neighborhood. The bed was really uncomfortable with noisy springs so literally every time we moved we got squeaks from the mattress. There was no hot water. We had to take lukewarm showers. They had the ac in the room set at 65 degrees. In march. It was COLD in that room. Breakfast was cold bacon was half cooked. Biscuits were burned. Honestly. Nothing good to say about this place at all. Sadly. At 150 a night they should be better"
