Cannua was absolutely incredible from the day we booked to the (sad) day we departed. Service was top notch and the food was amazing. A few days before arrival, I messaged the hotel on WhatsApp and asked for assistance booking a ride from our hotel in Medellin to Cannua. They quickly replied and took care of the arrangements. The ride took about an hour and 15 mins. The last bit of the ride was a bit bumpy, but unavoidable to get to the beautiful mountainside location. Reception Walking in, the initial view of the valley is breathtaking. I can only compare it to seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time. We were greeted with some incredible passion fruit and white wine welcome drinks, and sat out on the terrace, taking in the view while they took our passports and checked us in. The Cabin The initial reveal was slightly underwhelming because all the shades were closed, but as soon as we opened them up, OH MY GOD. We had a view of the entire valley, exactly like what we saw from the terrace at check-in, we saw from our bed. It was incredible. Downstairs, we had a sitting area with a pull-out bed, clothing storage with shelves and plenty of hangers, and a bathroom with a large shower. The water pressure was excellent, and the hot water was consistent and always available. There was also a mini fridge with some beer, wine, water, and snacks, along with a kettle, French press, and coffee. Upstairs was a very comfortable bed and a desk where we were able to work and take calls while looking out the windows. Excellent Wifi from all over the property. PRO TIP: Sleep with the shades open and wake up with sunrise to see the clouds burn off, revealing the valley below. EXPERT TIP: Only open the shades at night after you've turned off all the lights inside. The Food The food was delicious and made with intention. They used produce grown by them or from other local sources, and added edible flowers and other touches that made each plate unique. The servers (Sebastian and Fabs) explained each dish, where things came from, why things were paired, and how we should try them to experience different tastes. My favorite was the coconut cream corn. It’s 100% not what you think it is, and it’s amazing. The first night, I asked for the bill, and they said, “No sir, it’s all automatically billed to your room.” It felt like staying at an all inclusive. And it was all VERY reasonably priced. (Like, all the food and drinks for two people over 4 days only cost maybe $200) The Experiences We didn’t plan ahead for things to do while we were there, so we ended up with a slightly less than ideal schedule, but it wasn't a big deal. We just had to do a hike on our own and a coffee tasting at 4:30 in the afternoon. Coffee and Chocolate Tasting: This was an awesome experience led by Fabs, who was super knowledgeable about both subjects. He explained a lot about how the coffee was grown and the process, and then brewed the same coffee three different ways, so we
