Had the most wonderful experience staying and dining at the Inn by the Bandstand and Ambrose Restaurant with family. The owner and staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the area. The rooms are updated with beautiful antiques throughout the inn, public spaces are welcoming and it’s conveniently located right in the heart of town. The food and ambiance at their onsite Ambrose Restaurant was phenomenal, every plate was delicious. Highly recommend this hidden gem. We will be back.

The property itself is amazing. It is situated in a prime location in the quaint downtown area of Exeter, NH. Each guest room is unique, beautifully decorated, and immaculate. The food and drinks created by the Executive Chef of the Ambrose Restaurant, which is located inside of the Inn, are exquisite. What makes this establishment truly elevated is the unwavering attention to detail, concern for satisfaction, and perpetually pleasant demeanor of the Inn Keeper, Jaime. They simply could not be more accommodating here. The Inn and Ambrose Restaurant recently hosted my cozy, intimate, wedding and reception. It was truly spectacular and exceeded all of my expectations.

The Inn itself is gorgeous. The furnishings are top notch. There are fresh flower arrangements everywhere. The garden in the back is lovely. In July, there are free concerts at the bandstand. We listened from the porch. The town is nice to walk through with shops and restaurants to visit. We ate at the Ambrose Restaurant, which is affiliated with the hotel. The food was sublime! Highly recommend both the inn and the restaurant.

What a nice comfy Inn. I felt like I had went back in time. It definitely has an English flair, however it was just what my wife and I needed. We really enjoyed the morning walks from the inn to downtown and back. Only an hour from Logan and one hour to Portland Me.

Simply, FABULOUS! This beautifully furnished boutique hotel is a MUST STAY. The Ambrose Restaurant serves aTapas style menu of delicious items including a twenty year dried prosciutto board and a coffee chili rubbed pork rib that is out of this world ! The host and service was impeccable.

Room was immaculate with fantastic decor and suitable amenities. The building and grounds were nicely updated while preserving the historic charm. The innkeeper, Jamie, and his staff were impeccable with their service, craft cocktails, and truly delightful cuisine. Perfect weekend getaway, highly recommended!

This was the second time I was blessed to experience the Inn by the Bandstand. The first time was in June 2021, when my family (brothers, sister-in-law) flew in while our Dad was in hospice at nearby RiverWoods. Of course, we were all an emotional wreck but after spending a beautiful evening on the back terrace on a hot June night, drinking wine and chatting with Jaime, we began to relax. He didn't need to join us but he went out of his way to do so. His hospitality and compassion was exemplary and so appreciated! After a wonderful night's sleep in what used to be the Exeter Suite, we thoroughly enjoyed a morning breakfast treat from Chef Stanley. The ala carte menu was perfect to get exactly what you would like and the AM cocktails were fabulous! Fast forward to my latest visit on Friday 4/21/23. Again, my brother and sister-in-law were in town from CO for a few nights to visit our Mom at RiverWoods. I chose to spend one night at the Inn with them, in which Jaime graciously upgraded my room to the beautiful Abenaki "Cottage" Suite on the 3rd floor- WOW!! Beautiful wood, distressed barn boards, exquisite bedding, rugs, curtain shades in warm colors. Oh and yes, the pillows are unbelievable! Dinner at Otis next door was incredible! Another great night of relaxation, good times with family, a delivery of wine from Jaime per our request, and of course, a fabulous night of sleep with a yummy breakfast from the very talented Chef Stanley the next morning! Can't wait to visit Jaime and Stanley very soon! Thank you both for such amazing experiences at your Inn!

Roving 226 We have had the very fortunate opportunity to stay at this Inn over the past few years while we visit our parents nearby. Each time feels like we are coming home. Always a warm and friendly welcome, top notch accommodations, excellent food and beverage, and endless selection of amenities including fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. The inn and the family that runs it are top notch and have clearly mastered the art of inn keeping. PS: We just read the Roving 226 review and we have no idea where they are coming from. None of the comments were based in reality. We guess that this person will never find happiness anywhere in the world.

Terrible experience. Limited parking 4-5 spaces, no heating in the room, dirty toilet brush and stained paintwork around the door frame, no vanity or tea/coffee in the room. No offer to carry bags up two narrow stairs. BWB (bed without breakfast) paid $650 for one night, even though their website claims to be a bed and breakfast it does not include breakfast you have to pay extra. The surrounding area is beautiful, the Inn felt run down and definitely not worth the price.
