Cet hôtel est un havre de paix , dans un cadre somptueux , où vous aurez le plaisir de découvrir des oliviers millénaires , une flore extraordinaire , une des plus jolies piscines que je n’ai jamais vu , vous pourrez vous reposer au spa , à la hauteur de l’établissement , les chambres et le service sont parfaits

Nous recommandons chaudement la masseria san Domenico. Tout était juste parfait. L endroit, les oliviers à perte de vue, les prestations du spa, le dîner au coin du feu dans la bâtisse du 15 eme avec un menu délicieux qui change tous les jours, la suite en surclassement , le personnel aux petits soins du petit déjeuner au barman Bref, courez à cette adresse intime et confidentielle.

Nous avons passé deux nuits dans cet hôtel où nous avions réservé deux chambres dont une pour notre fille. L’environnement est agréable, le personnel est accueillant mais le style et les aménagements et le mobilier sont « passés », comme d’un autre temps. On a la désagréable impression d’être restés il y a au moins quinze ans. Ce qui frappe surtout ce sont les tarifs pratiqués qui ne sont aucunement justifiés. Vous payez 555€ la nuit pour une chambre double (que l’hôtel dénomme outrageusement une suite) et vous devez en plus payer 8€ au petit déjeuner pour obtenir une orange pressée… (cherchez l’erreur) J’ai d’autre part à titre personnel dû faire face à une ambiguïté dans l’application des tarifs sur laquelle l’hôtel avait sans doute raison sur le fond mais pas sur la forme, à tel point qu’il s’est proposé de m’offrir une nuitée gratuite lors d’un prochain séjour. Mais comme je ne le recommande nullement (il y a beaucoup beaucoup mieux à Melpignano ou Polignano) il est tout aussi peu probable que cette reconnaissance implicite de son erreur de communication me satisfasse.

Masseria San Domenica is a gem of a hotel, which manages to be both classy and totally unpretentious. It is wellness in the full sense of the word, tailored to individual tastes. Nestled among a rich variety of olive trees, some ancient, and other lush vegetation in Puglia, the hotel is framed on one side by an enormous pool and large grounds. There is a sense of quiet. Staff are attentive and friendly without being overbearing. We enjoyed the private beach (decking set up on a rocky beach) very much and the pasta they serve at lunch is some of the best we’d had anywhere. The room decor is a bit dated and tired but then contributed to the relaxed vibe and sense of timelessness. Having dinners served in our private courtyard was a highlight. We’d definitely go back.

We wanted to be there since a couple of years, following LWH site. in this zone there are TWO LWH luxury resort, this and the "twin" Borgo Egnazia. (reviewed apart on T.A.) So we organized a trip to both, masseria followed B.E. Both of the same owner, so both concierces work in synch to arrange trip. Place is an OLD masseria, very spacious and quiet, and we note much more compared to B.E. People are gentle, furniture and room is a bit outdated but nice. Room was very well organized and set. We recognized a different mood in personnel, more calm but anyway efficient. Place is very ample, with a very bit swimmign pool. PRO - real "masseria" - few gests, so very quiet - a lot of countruy around CONS - some details a bit outdated - restaurant is NOT adeguate to 5 start resort. -- Restaurant We tried it as we alredy ate at 1 starred restaurant the day before in Borgo Egnazia, Due Camini. This restaurant is a typical pugliese restaurant with good raw materials, but no more. it seems a restaurtant of 20 year old, with old style habits and nothing from modern cousine. Typical customer is old and accustomed to eat as a local restaurant. Wine card is inexistent. Resort is high level, but does nto deserve this place: I am asking how the got LHW sign with it.

The hotel is just lovely, we have stayed in November for 4 nights. It was cold in the evening but this was to be expected in this time of the year. Especially the bartender is to mentioned for his very well interaction and service. The Negroni was each time amazing. Rooms are with love in each detail. Even rose leaves in the toilet ;) Well done and if we are in the region again, we will stay here again.

We had dinner (did not stay overnight) at this Masseria and it was disappointing. The food was not very good, there was a mixed up with what we had ordered and the service was average and seemed uninterested. The dining room is formal and lacks personal touch. The dinner was expensive and far from memorable. On the whole a disappointing experience.

The place is just stunning, with lovely gardens, immense olive groves, the biggest and most beautiful swimming pool I've ever seen et cetera. The staff is extraordinarily competent and pleasant. They know exactly who you are and what you want. For example, we organised a wine-tasting for our group of nine, and the staff came up with all kinds of brilliant ideas to make it a great success. Why then serve lousy food? If you keep the high season menu during off-season - we were there in October - you obviously cannot keep up the same standards. For example, several of us took a fish dish with flakes of almond. It was dry, had little taste nor flavour, and had clearly come straight out of the freezer. Nevertheless, I managed to eat almost half my portion. For starters, some of us had a seafood dish with mussels, clams, croutons etc. For some reason, virtually all the shells were empty, with the poor animals lying at the bottom of the huge dish. The croutons was the best part. Admittedly, some of us were quite pleased with their food. Another surprising thing, the furniture. Some of it was of the darkish and heavy kind, typical for the late 19th century in Italy. Very boring. The rest of the furniture was more modern but insignificant.

This Masseria is truly beautiful and unique in every way in the layout and the pool absolutely stunning . The gardens were gorgeous and rooms were very clean , spacious and the health spa world class. It was close to Fasqna and Savelleteri which were lovely to visit and have outside dinners. We played golf which was also a good experience with the reception… golf caddy could improve his personal skills . Very abrupt and unfriendly. The breakfast food and dining area was outstanding. What was surprisingly disappointing was the restaurant food. It was expensive, low quality , in fact the worst meal we had in a Puglia in two weeks. Food was served cold, twice with wine not arriving on time. The staff were not that interested in the feedback which was politely given the following day and we were informed we were unlucky ? We had veal meatballs which were served with mash potato which was tasteless , like a child’s meal and dried Sicilian pork which was dry and tasteless. Given the standing of the Masseria we don’t believe this is what they would wish for for the investment.
