The Causeway Guest House

My son and others had booked this property for 5 nights. Arrived to be told they could only stay for one despite a clear confirmation both by phone and in person only days before. The owner then accused them of lying and was very rude, whilst it is obvious he took an alternative booking from others in preference. Unprofessional owner, not to be trusted. Staff onsite ok, although accommodation not fully cleaned, health and safety violations in kitchen and breakfast average at best.

Accused of being “delusional” and “a liar” by the owner. The staff at the BnB were pleasant, however the owner, Brent, was far from polite and incredibly rude. When initially booking I clearly stated that it would be Monday to Saturday stay, and made a note of this in writing when on the call with the owner. Prior to checking in, myself and the other people I was staying alongside came to the hotel to ensure our booking was all ok, to which we were assured by Brent that it would be no issue. However once arriving we were told the stay would only be for one night, despite this clearly not being what was previously arranged. When on call with the owner who was on holiday he accused me of lying, being delusional and was verbally abusive towards me. I was incredibly disappointed in his highly unprofessional behaviour, after he was the one who had make the booking error. As for the stay, breakfast was average at best, and there were clear health violations present with open tobacco packets left on the kitchen countertops. Alongside this, the bed in my room had a hair not belonging to me present. The whole experience with this hotel was awful, and I do not advise anyone to stay here in the future.

My mum, sister, and I stayed at this beautifully kept guest house, and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. We were in Room 11, which was exceptionally clean, tidy, and featured very comfortable beds. The en-suite shower and toilet were spotless, and the whole space was warm and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a genuinely warm welcome from Sharon, which set the tone for a wonderful stay. The breakfast was truly outstanding both the quality of the food and the attentive service were on par with, if not better than, many five star hotels we’ve experienced. It’s easy to see why this place is often fully booked. We would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting the area and will definitely be staying again the next time we’re nearby.

Room was vey clean and facilities second to none, service by personnel was excellent the breakfast choice and amount was again exceptional, would definitely book in here again , for value for money they can’t be beaten. Low prices do not in this case reflect the true value of this guesthouse. Should be 4/5 star rated at least.

Whole guesthouse was Very clean, hotel and room had a fresh feel about it, friendly and helpful team, a very good breakfast and adapted to my needs. 5 star food rating which is well deserved. I would Definitely recommend. If I come back this way I would stay again for sure

Such a good find ! This is a perfectly situated hotel, just a short walk to the centre of March with it's shops, pubs,marketplace and museums. The hotel has a huge carpark out the back, and the pleasant staff are very accommodating. We were greeted by Sharon , who showed us to our room, and ensured we were informed and comfortable. The double room was spotless, a good size with 2 separate rooms within.....toilet / wash basin, and shower room with heated towel rail. The bed was incredibly comfy, and the complementary tea tray well stocked with plenty of biscuits and extra milks. After a great, peaceful nights sleep, we were treated to an amazing breakfast ..... A choice of all the breakfast foods one could want is available..cereals/yoghurts/ juices and milk are self serve followed by a choice of freshly cooked English breakfast with all the trimmings.... No one could possibly leave here hungry ! We would highly recommend this lovely hotel, and will definitely return.
