Hotel am Sonnenhügel

It's easy to understand why this hotel is rated well; from the moment we checked into our rooms, we knew that we'd chosen a lovely place to stay. Located at the edge of the town in Filzmoos, overlooking the bottom of the gondola slope, we enjoyed clean and spacious accommodation, which was serviced efficiently every day whilst we ate breakfast. Breakfast choices provided us with everything that one could expect in a mountain resort; we'd chosen half-board basis, and our evening meal bordered on fine-dining. A plentiful salad buffet, including a speciality starter, was followed with soup, a choice of main course, dessert and a good selection of cheeses. All of the staff were exceptionally customer-focussed. On the negative side; we were disappointed to find we'd been charged for tap water, both at the table and in the bar afterwards. If, like us, you drink plenty of H2O, you can easily end up with a bill for €60 at the end of the week + taxes. I think this should have been pointed out to us beforehand. We experienced almost no WiFi connectivity from our rooms, but it was better in the adjoining hotel - where we dined. Overall, a lovely stay.
