Food disgusting. Rooms not clean. There must have been at least one years thick dust on the wardrobe door rail. I bought it to the attention of the manager who replied he would get someone to clean it, then walked off, no apology. I departed the hotel four days later it still had not been cleaned. Dinning room waiters need training, ( lean across the table to serve clients. Instead of serving from behind) Tables not laid out properly. Missing condiments,no butter, the list goes on. Worst Hotel that I have ever stayed in. Could not wait to get home.

Issue with 1st room manager moved us straight away. Great hotel position for beach, town, buses and nice walks. We got moved to new room, great shower and very comfy bed. Food was very good, only complaint was toast often burnt. Entertainment very good. We will return. Staff work very hard. Great manager.

Went on a five day break with Daish Travel , most of the hotel has just been refurbished, it was excellent, the staff, the room , The food, I AM GLUTEN FREE, So had to pre arrange my food , which was excellent, good choice,every day , ,you also have the option to go through a middle door into the Prince Regent Hotel next door , Both hotels have good evening entertainment,with the Regent having a massive dance floor ,and beautiful architecture, superbly decorated , both hotels had 2 nights half price bar , and great coffee shops !

Honestly it was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I walked in the room. I could’ve quite easily gone back home. I went there with my mother-in-law and my father-in-law passed away at Christmas and I went there to keep her company. She’s partly excited so luckily she didn’t see the room to what it was like the wallpaper is peeling off. There was filling under the bed which was obviously there from the previous guest or the previous guests the walls were damp. There was ceiling bits of ceiling falling down. I asked for a clean duvet cover when I got there the next day there was a new duvet cover but different stain on it. It was just awful. The benefits with the sea view we did have a Seaview the food was very good. I have to say the coffee pots that was served up in the morning for breakfast with filthy. I asked for a clean cup one morning because there was lipstick on it. It already poured the coffee when I noticed so we tipped the coffee that put into the dirty cup into a king cup I watch the waiter drink somebody else’s orange juice and a glass that have been left behind from the previous guest while he was clearing up the entertainment was quite good. The bingo was good. The bar staff were good but the room was awful and filthy and not a very good experience.

We stayed here at the beginning of June in the double premium rooms 145 and 148. Travelled by Daishs coaches which were clean and comfortable and stopped regularly for comfort breaks. All drivers were excellent, in spite of some difficult road situations, especially Rachel who kept us updated and supplied still, sparkling and flavoured water at minimum price. On arrival we were welcomed by the hotel manager who came on to the coach to explain how we needed to complete our evening meal forms before dinner at 6.30 . We did not have to wait for or carry our suitcases as the porters and driver unloaded them from the coach and took them directly to our rooms which was really helpful. There was only one lift which held 6 to 8 people but it was in full working order all of our holiday. Rooms had walk in showers and were immaculately clean and modern, though some of the towels were a bit tatty and needed replacing. Beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. Room 145 could have done with a shelf in the bathroom area as the pull out drawer under the sink was not suitable for everything you need in the bathroom, plus there were no plastic cups for toothpaste, brushes and rinsing. The dining room was lovely and set out carefully to accommodate so many people. We were in the smaller room, just off the main dining room. Food was good, hot and plenty of choice and our waiter went out of his way to meet all our varying needs, changing things if we were not happy, plus he served us all on a rota basis so the same people did not always get served first . The bar and entertainments area was comfortable and we did quizzes, played Bingo and particularly enjoyed the Elvis Tribute Act. Tracey looked after everyone, had a brilliant sense of humour and went out of her way to accommodate the needs of everyone. Whilst there we used the local buses and went to Bridport, West Bay {where Broadchurch was filmed) and Dorchester. The hotel provided us with helpful bus timetables, local buses went from the terminal ten minutes walk away. A special mention to the hotel manager who was immediately there with a mop and bucket and cleaned up some "spillage" in the lift promptly when we drew it to his attention. On departure day we were advised to leave our suitcases outside our rooms by 6.30 am so our cases were taken directly on to the coaches home, which was really helpful. A well managed hotel, well done to all the helpful and friendly staff.

Just returned from the Russell hotel for 5 day stay with daish's coaches. Will not be returning. Requested a low floor on booking which was dismissed out of hand on arrival. Given room 335 which is actually in the attic or appears to be. Room.was dingy small but the heat in the room was almost unbearable had a window that opened about 6 inches and a house brick provided to keep it open. Only relief from the heat was to leave the door open when in the room obviously not applicable for the night time which made sleep almost impossible. The bed was awful small enough for a child squeaked on every movement. Decor was dingy drab and very dated. Food was just about average restaurant staff helpful and polite. Manager very stand offish and uninterested on arrival when I enquired as to a low floor room which I requested on booking in February. Would not return to this hotel I think the single rooms in this hotel are totally unsuitable for a guest room to enjoy any kind of holiday. Not recommended.

Just returned from a four day break with two Deaf and hard of hearing groups. Yes the hotel looks tired in parts but the staff went out of their way in trying to communicate with and make sure the Deaf had all that they needed at all times. Dave, our driver was wonderful in taking all the wheel chairs and walkers out every time we stopped. His deaf awareness made every outing a good experience for all. There were two areas where I think some more thought should be put in (apart from stopping the rain!). Closing the coffee shop in reception and forcing people to walk to the hotel next door to buy drinks when so many have mobility issues doesn't make a lot of sense. Especially when that place was empty of customers . Very few people knew that they could go next door as word by mouth is not something Deaf people follow. We can not be the only people who are Deaf or hard of hearing who visit who like to play bingo. The numbers screen is too small to see on the larger screens . Being Deaf we are unable to hear the numbers being called so need to see the numbers on the screen. Maybe a way of enlarging the numbers could be found. We were given reserved seats after the first night which helped our interpreter to sign the numbers. Those of us without BSL still couldn't see the bingo machine screen as our reserved seating was behind the caller. I'm impressed with all the help the staff gave our members.....just need to tweak a few things for all Deaf and hard of hearing people to fully enjoy the evening entertainment. The sister hotel was even worse regarding the bingo so hope the rain damage wasn't too bad to reopen the lounge soon. Thank you for all you did.

Had a very nice room with a sea view, been here several times over the years, the food was very good and ample, the xmas dinner was lovely and tasty. Entertainment was okay, had good singers on every night but would have liked a bit more variety like a comedian/ singer. Easy to get to other places by bus, we went to Bridport one day on the bus, catch it near the kings statue no 6 bus stand. A nice scenic drive. A very good value holiday , look forward to coming here again

I travelled with my 9 year old son, first time visiting weymouth and using this hotel. Hotel was ok needs some TLC in some of the rooms but this wouldn't stop us returning. Staff very friendly and approachable, food was very nice we cant fault any of the meals we had. Our waitress Toni was lovely and we didnt have to wait long for meals it was very fast service. We had a sea veiw room and The beds were very comfortable and clean. The location of hotel is perfect,right on the sea front. We can't wait to book again.
