Having spent two nights in this place booked through friends we as a four will never be back room air on not working god knows how hot it was first night after speaking to the receptionist got a fan second night Three lights in our bathroom two not working, fridge with beer etc not working shampoo holder in shower nearly off the wall Breakfast was interesting cheapest breakfast ingredients imaginable with what was on offer workers in the kitchen which was more like going into a dungeon worked hard Speaking to the girls on reception they did what they could but we as a four got little response from management My thoughts on the management they don’t really care most traveler’s won’t come back to Florence they have the money BEWARE don’t give them any of yours

AVOID. No hot water (we were informed at check-in only) and no refunds offered. In the room… moldy bathroom, stains on bed. Left immediately. No refunds, no apologies. Save your vacation, avoid this.

The worst experience I have ever had!!! Absolutely a waste of money there!! No real air condition, just a thing that worked like air condition but it made too much noise we couldn't sleep, lots of bucks and mosquitoes, too old building and rooms. No elevator, we had to carry our bags from stairs. Worst breakfast ever, it didn't have something and it was in a space like cave and I felt too bad there so we didn't even try to eat there, we left and we were eating breakfast in cafes! Wouldn't recommend to anyone to visit this hotel, there are other hotel with great location don't even give it a chance. The worst part was that the maid cleaned my bedside table (as she was not allowed from the hotel to clean it) she throw away my medical - dental splint that was really important for me to wear it, that costed 700€ and went to see what happened and they just say they were sorry about it and it was their fault but they can't do something or refund me in any way for their mistake, I told them I wanted to talked with the manager there but the manager didn't even answer their phone calls and later the next day they told me that they can't do something and sorry!! That's a shame from them! That was their fault and they didn't even care! Don't even try to visit it it's an awful place!

Before you read this: I do not recommend this hotel. If you can find somewhere else, even if a little more expensive, do it. Advertised as air conditioning, not true. Only AC in June. It was miserably hot so we opened up windows for air. We were demolished by bugs, at least 100 Bites between myself and my husband. We spoke with management and they said they would spray but we got more bites the second night. Not a pleasant experience. Only positives- location was great. Rooms somewhat comfortable but I felt like we overpaid for quality.

We picked this hotel based on the location, but it turned out to be a very regrettable choice. On first looks, the room seemed fine, but soon the issues would unravel. It will go down as the worst holiday experience of my life. The air conditioner did not work and would leak, I discovered this when my luggage was soaking wet as I had placed by suitcase under the air conditioner which was placed way too high in the room anyway. All my luggage was wet, including my £1350 laptop. With no air conditioning in 35-degree heat, we did not get a wink of sleep. Reception is closed after 8pm so we had to suffer all night. The next day, the hotel put two buckets down, so now we had buckets of water in our room, which probably attracted all the mosquitos. I did inform the staff, but they couldn’t seem to make a decision without phoning the owner. And the only solution they offered was another room, which was a double, and we had a twin. I did not want to share a bed with a grown man as that would also be uncomfortable. What’s more, I spoke to four different reception people there over our two day stay. So, I had to keep explaining the issue which never seemed passed on or taken very seriously. I was also ravaged by bed buys or mosquitos; my friend wasn’t bitten once so maybe it was bed bugs. It’s the worst experience I’ve had with bites in my life, and I’ve been to far more mosquito prone areas. The hotel did not have any fans to offer or would not move another bed into another room. They were completely out of their depth and ill-prepared. In addition, the shower did not drain which was the least of the problems. I would avoid this hotel at all cost. It’s not worth the risk. They cannot deal with simple issues and do not know how to offer an appropriate solution. Oh, and the rooms don’t look like the pictures. This is 2 star at best.

The location is great, the hotel room itself is very nice (although no table to be able to work from), the internet is good and the room itself was generally quiet in the evenings, which I appreciated sincerely. In addition, there was baggage storage on the day I left so I did not need to drag a suitcase around a half a day. Moreover, most of the staff members were very nice and one even went out of her way to locate ideas for cafés to work from in Florence. However, the main problem was the system for checking in for arrivals after 7 pm. There is no staff member on premises after 7 pm, so for check-in after 7 pm, one instead receives an e-mail with a code to open a box next to the main door on the floor to retrieve keys from the box to let oneself in. Unfortunately, this code for me arrived by e-mail only after I had boarded my departing flight to Florence (after which I did not have access to work e-mail). As a result, I ended up standing outside the main door of the Palazzo Galletti for around an hour as I did not have the code, with no staff members picking up their phones given outside this door, until, by coincidence, one of the staff members turned up coincidentally late at the hotel. Not the welcome I was hoping for to Florence when it was late and I was very tired. Other more minor issues include one of the staff members for breakfast was rude and the hotel itself is split in two sides of one floor but the two sides themselves do not open with the same door-key. So, I found myself locked out of the other side of the hotel (for which I did not have a key) when trying to reach the space for breakfast. There was also no power outlet adaptable to a German laptop I could locate except in the bathroom, so I needed to work from the bathroom to charge the laptop while using it.
