Benivieni Hotel

L'hôtel Benivieni est un bel endroit situé au centre de la ville. L'endroit est petit, mais les chambres ont un certain charme, surtout celles qui donnent sur les rues.

Paulo is a sweet welcoming host. Location is great - close to Uffizi and Boboli/Pitti Palace. Awesome location also for shopping leather and other merchandise. There is a tiny shop next to it where you can purchase drinking water for cheap, and also pick up snacks/fruits. Room is small and has one cupboard/closet. No fridge. Bathroom shower stall was so tiny. I did not opt in for the breakfast but the spread looked good. Has elevator.

When we were checking in, we were interrupted by someone waiting at the train station that had forgotten their passports in the room safe. Paolo, the owner, told them there would be a 20 euro key charge since they had already checked out. After that was all over, he wanted me to give him the city tax in cash and would not accept a credit card. I then asked if I could get an extra room key for my wife, and he said it would be 20 euros. I told him to forget it. He then informed us that since we were staying 4 days, there would be a 20 euro charge if we wanted the room cleaned before we checked out. The floors were filthy, and the bed spreads were old and funky. If you are not too picky, then go there. It is one block away from the Duomo. We would never go back, no matter the location.

The hotel and our room was simple but it met our needs. If you're looking for something centrally located and are ok with a hotel that is more basic, this is a good place for you. If you're looking for something fancy with a lot of accommodations, you may want to look elsewhere. Paolo was friendly and quick to respond to anything we needed. To our surprise, there was a bottle of champagne in the room courteously of my daughter. She had contacted the hotel and Paolo executed her request. The note was even typed out. Paolo was welcoming when we checked in and helpful during our stay, answering all our questions and arranging a taxi the day we left. One feature we loved best about this hotel is the location. There is also a great little café attached to the hotel. Thank you Paolo and team! We appreciate your hospitality.

The worst hotel I have ever been to in my life. Please spare yourselves the trip & find yourself another hotel up a block. Avoid the place at all costs. Dirty moldy showers that are hardly fit my toddlers let alone an adult. Beds falling apart that are at least 20 years old. Pillows were at least a decade old& sheets were stiff as a sheet of paper. The ceiling was falling apart & dripping fluid, while the air conditioner was controlled by Paolo the owner & desk manager via computer. Temperature did not go below 25 degrees celsius bc Paolo said it is bad for the environment & cannot be more than 5 degrees from the outside temperature. Only problem with that is in the night when cooler & bellow 25, temperature did not budge. It was always cooler outside than our rooms. We approached his the next day & were met with anger. There are no refrigerator or microwave in the room & the phones were broken & shoved away in one of the 60 year old cabinets. The 3 days we spent were a nightmare from hell. You only got one set of towels per day you were there so ladies who have long hair we had no options. Hotel rooms are not cleaned for some reason until check out & were not allowed to replace towels either. When checked in the floor was extremely dirty while falling apart & so were walls & furniture. SPARE YOURSELF!!!

Stayed here for three nights in what was once the livery. The room was huge for european standards but it lacked charm and decor; however, it did meet our needs. It's centrally located and just a stones throw to the Duomo. Easy walk to the city sites and a 10 minute walk to/from the train station. Although the gentleman at the front desk insisted that we pay cash for the room tax, he was friendly. If you're looking for something basic and centrally located and don't require much attention from hotel staff, this place is for you. If you're looking for something fancy, look elsewhere.

We will not return to this hotel even when it’s only steps away from the Duomo. If proximity is more important than feeling at ease… then this place would be ok. Manager is crude, rude and obnoxious. From the moment we came in, with our glow about being in amazing Florence, he made unpleasant remarks such as: “Why should I allow you to pay the hotel tax with a credit card? You must pay that in cash… I will not give my money away to the government”. When we asked if he could tell us how to turn on the A/C, he said that because of an “environmental law” air conditioners were not allowed to be turned on until June (we stayed in May and it was hot). We texted *********** to see if they could help us, because the reservation description said that A/C was provided. Customer care immediately communicated with the property (thank you ***********) and when we came into the lobby the manager confronted me (up close in a threatening way) and said “why are you complaining with ***********? Didn’t you tell them that I upgraded your room?” I answered “sir, the room you gave us has an extra single bed that I don’t need. Yet I paid for an air conditioned room which your are not allowing us to turn on. I did not complain to ***********, I messaged them to help me get air conditioning”. Well, it worked and he turned on the A/C. But we felt so uncomfortable at this hotel that we even packed one day early wishing it was our checkout day. Only good thing about this location is the cafe adjacent to it. It has friendly staff with superb coffee and croissants!

Sinceramente non capisco le recensioni negative e siamo abituati a viaggiare con standard di un certo livello. La posizione è più che centrale, praticamente accanto al Duomo. Ero con due persone di una certa età che pure si sono trovate benissimo. Camere pulite,cortesia, affabilità, il bagno e gli asciugamani pulitissimi. Vero che non c'è il cambio quotidiano, ma quanti a casa propria lo fanno??? Cmq torneremo e consiglieremo senz'altro.

Posizione centralissima, veramente a dieci passi dal bellissimo Duomo di Firenze. Struttura adatta ai diversamente abili con camera al piano terra, dotata di pedana per l'ingresso e di bagno adeguato sotto ogni aspetto. Pulizia della stanza perfetta. Ottima la colazione nella caffetteria annessa. Ma, soprattutto, l'estrema cortesia, gentilezza e disponibilità del proprietario che non dimenticheremo. Consigliatissimo! Quando ritornerò a Firenze soggiornerò sicuramente di nuovo qui.
