We stayed here for several nights, pre-paid. Daily breakfast was very good. The room was quite compact, but very clean with good bed linens. Those were the good points. Sadly, the bad outweighed the good. They served us a "catered" meal every evening which as barely the quality of cheap airline food --quite disappointing. They were informed two weeks in advance of a vegetarian in our group yet quite stupidly served her meat foods, including (2X) a creamy soup with beef meatballs, and, another time vegetable-beef soup (and a lame waitress laughed about that). There was no mini-bar, which was OK but there was no telephone in the room, so the day they "forgot" to give us fresh towels, we couldn't even phone the front desk but had go there and ask for towels in person, which were handed over with no explanation and no apology. On person in our group had a terrible smell in her room, and they management did nothing to "fix" this for four days, just sprayed some kind of perfume spray in the room. A guest saw and photographed a live bat in the hallway and reported this to a staff person who casually said, "Oh, I will write that in the book," whatever that meant. It's a modest three-star hotel with, ah, much to be modest about. BTW, only basic German language cable tv -- nothing international. Would we recommend it or stay there again? Definitely not. The town, by the way, is quite charming, but NOTHING is open after about 8:00 p.m.
