Our journey from Siliguri Junction to Sinclairs Gangtok was far from pleasant. The conveyance vendor arranged for us was a poor choice — the car was old and unclean, with the dicky filled with the driver's personal luggage. The driver was unprofessional: he refused to switch on the AC, hurried us through breakfast, and even seemed unsure of our destination. To make matters worse, he stopped for his own lunch en route and made us step out of the car because he wouldn’t keep the AC on. It was a harrowing experience, especially with kids in tow. However, everything changed the moment we arrived at Sinclairs Gangtok. The hotel staff were courteous and welcoming. The property was impeccably clean, with smiling faces all around. We were given a plush room with a stunning valley view. Room service was prompt, efficient, and always on point. Special mention must go to Ms. Archana Das. Without her, our stay wouldn't have been the wonderful experience it turned out to be. She was always available, proactive, and truly went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Her dedication turned a potentially stressful trip into a relaxing getaway. The swimming pool was beautiful — though I’d suggest installing a temperature control system, as my kids found it a bit cold. Still, they had a lot of fun. The food was decent, though we did miss having lamb and found prawns unavailable after our second day. A unique situation arose during our departure — due to the Prime Minister’s visit, tourists were required to exit Gangtok by 6 am. With our train to Calcutta at 7:50 pm from Siliguri, we were unsure how to spend the day. Once again, Archana came to our rescue, arranging a day room for us at Sinclairs Siliguri and organizing transportation despite a vehicle shortage. Archana, take a bow. Your service elevated our experience beyond expectations. Sinclairs Gangtok is truly lucky to have someone like you on their team.
