Premier Inn Skipton North (Gargrave)

Absolutely terrible place; I've stayed in better hotels in third world countries. the place was absolutely filthy, with stains down the walls, and bed, and mould all over the bathroom, with rotting door frames. We had to sleep in our clothes due to the dirty bed, and had a three hour drive home after just an hours sleep. people were smoking in their rooms so clearly the smoke alarms don't work My biggest complaint is how disgustingly they have treated my 82 year old mother, who hasn't been offer a penny after paying for a room and a suit for my sisters family. She has been called a liar and been left traumatised by the entire trip, which was supposed to be a joyous occasion as she gave my niece away at her wedding. This hotel isn't fit for farm animals, let alone charging £130 for a nights stay; they should be ashamed

Need was very uncomfortable, so didn't get a good sleep. The unlimited breakfast wasn't really worth it as you had to do it made to order which we wouldn't have bothered if we knew that. I wanted poached eggs but they said it would be atleast 25 mins as they hadn't boiled the water in time

First I will say the staff were ALL excellent even in trying circumstances!! The place is understaffed! The whole building and dining area needs a radical update. Decor is faded and carpets worn. The dining room is quite sure. On the first evening I had to wait two hours for a course!! However there was only one person seating customers and serving. However the receptionist did try to help. I suspect only one person was cooking. Breakfast which was described as helping your self wasn’t possible. It was waiter served. Again staff worked like trojans. Some people complained they kept standing out side for a fag!! Perhaps that kept them sane!! I feel breakfast was falsely sold to us. The bar opened at 6 so sadly in lovely weather no drinks were available! It also closed at 930 pm. Parking is ample and Skipton 5 miles away where parking is free after 6 pm Sadly we won’t be visiting this premier inn again and falls below stabdard expected.

Standards are slipping Premier Inns, and this one had problems with standards of cleaning and maintenance. As we walked in the room was cold with a whiff of a blocked drain. We had an appointment to keep so no time to ask for a room change. Then we found no internet connection. The bathroom had not had a good clean for a while, there was mildew in the shower tiles and in corners in the shower inside and out. The desk staff seemed resigned to hearing of these problems. We are aware of plans to reorganise Premier Inns and until that happens I regret we will not be using them on a regular basis as we have in the past.

This Premier inn is the worst that we have ever stayed in. The check in receptionist was helpful giving us a ground floor room on request, but thats where the good stuff ended. The corridors smell musty and damp, also the corridors are cold. There is mould on the bathroom tiles and around the dispensers. The window frames also have black mould around them. The rooms were not serviced at all during a 3 night stay. We had to collect fresh towels and toilet paper ourselves from reception. The bins were not emptied nor the tea, coffee and milk replenished. The pub next door was not open for anything except the breakfast service til 10.00am and then evening dinner from 6pm. It seemed as if it was too much trouble to have a table, we definately did not feel welcome to eat there. The young waiter at The Anchor was on his own running about and could have done with some support, he was brilliant and polite while other more senior staff were happy to chat at the bar and leave him to it, shameful! There is a catalogue of instances at this hotel around staff behaviour and attitude that are far too numerous to list. It was a short notice Easter booking, we now know why they had availability and we would have left if anything else had been available in that area.

Stayed for a work trip. Location-wise excellent, plenty of parking and very attractive exterior. Staff, as usual with Premier Inn, fantastic. Sadly it’s let down on interior presentation. Some stains on upholstery in room. Needs a bit ogpf love and will be great. Bed excellent as always and quiet nights sleep.
