This was the second time we have stayed at the Murray Arms. We stayed in room 11. The room was as spotless and cosy as ever, with a gorgeous comfy bed and bunk beds for the kids. We also booked for the Sunday dinner which was absolutely delicious. I can definitely recommend a stay at the Murray Arms if you’re planning on visiting the area. You will not be disappointed!

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Staff all wonderful. Delicious food and drinks. We highly recommend coming to this venue. Hopefully we will be back in the area again and get to enjoy another lovely evening here. Thank you for a wonderful time

Food was absolutely delicious and Massimo was just the loveliest host. We had the Malabar Chicken curry on night 1 and the featherbaldenof beef night 2. Both were absolutely gorgeous! Highly recommend! Will be back and we’ll stay there as the rooms look stunning. From Rebecca & Michael

Firstly they are dog friendly and have a separate eating area in the bar for this. The Sunday lunch was phenomenal, super tender roast beef with all the trimmings (even cauliflower cheese,) my partner enjoyed the pork belly and my friend who is vegetarian had the stuffed butternut squash and was also impressed. Amazing cheesecake for dessert too. Lovely setting, friendly & efficient staff and the live music (guitarist & female vocalist banging out classics) was high quality and added nicely to the ambiance. 100% will be back when we fancy treating ourselves on a Sunday.

Stayed here for 2nights ,27th and 28th December,thought it was lovely,waiting and bar staff very helpful,not a very extensive menu but ok. We brought 2 champagne flutes with us and the box they were in,also was left sitting beside them with a bottle of bubbly to share which we did on the Friday evening before going out . Next morning we went out a walk, came back our room had been made up and our champagne flutes had disappeared along with the housekeeper. Decided to let it go as we didn’t really need them .although they were nice,but when we checked out and arrived home and was unpacking I realised that a item of clothing-a top- was missing,I called the hotel on 2 occasions 1st time I got the receptionist who said she would call me back 2nd time a female with a foreign accent,to which all she could do was correct me as I inadvertently called the hotel Murray Inn instead of Arms. Still waiting for an update from them,so the moral of my story is keep an eye on your belongings because when there gone and you go,you’ve had it .Wouldn’t Return!!

Shambles of a visit! Booked a table of 10 for Sunday lunch, we were asked to preorder which was totally fine but were told when we arrived that the roast beef that 5 of the group had ordered was unavailable. They hadn’t bothered letting us know in advance… The starter was supposed to be served with sour dough bread, however we were served cold sliced brown toast, again served failed to mention this when we ordered. Never cleared any glasses whilst we were dining. Totally overcharged us, having been sent a set menu cost. When we brought this up they managed to wangle only a £17.95 refund. Wouldn’t recommend….

We received a very warm welcome which continued throughout our visit for supper. Tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean; the enjoyable haddock goujons made for a pleasant visit. The ladies serving were helpful and attentive at all times. It was all the little touches such as table lamps, quality crockery and cutlery that made the meal so memorable. A rum ba-ba just ended a gorgeous meal.

What a stunning hotel in Gatehouse of Fleet in the South of Scotland. We were there for a business meeting in a well equipped room - adequate for our needs. Lunch was delicious - compliments to the chef. All staff were friendly and attentive throughout.

Visited November, booked for an evening meal. Service friendly, food favourable, alas it was like sitting in a freezer. All customers dinning in there coat's. Weather forecast pre warned of the temperatures. Sadly we couldn't wait to get out to thaw out. Owner has apologised and said extra heaters have been added for future guests. Just wrap up extra warm to enjoy your evening for indoor dinning (just in case).
