Gellihaf House

We booked Gellihaf House last minute when another booking in Newport feel through. We couldn't have been more pleased with this. Cath and Howard were welcoming, charming and helped us feel immediately at home. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with all the amenities you could hope for. They went out of their way to provide us with gluten free and vegan breakfast options and it was delicious. Very comfortable bed and pillows with wonderfully curated decorations in the home thanks to Cathy's keen eye and soft furnishing business. We look forward to recommending this stay to all our friends and family.

Our family stayed here whilst returning home for a short stay under difficult circumstances. Cath and Howard did everything to make our stay a welcoming and enjoyable one in their beautifully refurbished luxury B&B. I remembered the house from my childhood, it’s been tastefully restored with many lovely touches and is exceptional. Attention to detail and wonderful breakfasts, an incredible garden to relax and enjoy, ample parking and so much more. You will not be disappointed with a stay here for any occasion. What a find this was. Pure chance we booked in here, looking for somewhere with easy access to the valleys and Cardiff. We stayed here for seven days and absolutely loved it. We were welcomed at the gate by Cath and the help and friendliness never stopped. I have to say this house has THE most comfortable beds we've ever slept in while travelling, we slept SO well. The garden is beautiful with loads of birds visiting. We visited Penallta Parc, Sirhowy Valley Park, Abergavenny, Cyfarthfa castle park and Clydach Gorge all from here, there's loads to see and do in the surrounding areas. The breakfast here is delicious, a lot made by Cath herself, I couldn't stop eating the granola, thank you both for a great stay.

This splendid home is an ideal situation for visiting the local area. The room was well appointed and the bath was divine. We slept very comfortably. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, served on beautiful tableware in a comfortable front room. I also loved the sitting room that is available to guests, it was such a nice spot to read a book. The garden has a bench that is perfect for sunsets, and I loved walking around looking at all of the beautiful plants. The conversations with the host and their family were so much fun. This family knows a lot about the area, and they can help you plan what you would like to do. They also will give you your privacy and take care of any sudden needs as they come up. We were a party of three with family friends nearby, and Gellihaf house welcomed them to come to breakfast with us as well. That was so helpful to us! I can't imagine staying anywhere else when I am next in the area. Everything we needed and more was provided. I even requested tea in the reading room so as to not bother my Mom while she napped upstairs, and the host kindly brought me some. That was so kind. Thank you so much! I can't wait to return.

Great hosts, we had a really nice time. Breakfast insanely good, choose the egg/ advocado with lime and chili on bread, it is fenominal. Next time we come back and back and this time we reserve the bike park on time. ;=) Thank you and we are looking foward to next time.
