Riverwood Downs of Barrington Tops

Leaving was the best part of this stay. Despite the venue being full as they had a country festival happening they closed the restaurant. They did advise everyone that the kiosk would be open till 7pm to only close it at 4pm with no other food option available if you had not bought your own supplies you would be left to go hungry whilst staying in your ‘luxury’ cabin a food van showed up and started serving food from 7pm baked potatoes with 4 different toppings, steak or Sausage sandwich were our menu options for the entire weekend! They did reopen the kiosk the next day but when it took me 30 mins for them to make a chock shake decided to by pass it in future. There is no internet despite what they say on the website they told us you could get access to it in front of the office but none of us managed to. This means your phones don’t work so you have to go old school if you are not staying together. Given that there is no internet you would have thought they would have supplied some games, magazines and books or a DVD library there was nothing. Now to get to the luxury cabin it is luxury if you consider staying at Steptoe & Sons tip is luxury then they are excelling but in any of today’s ideas of luxury it is not. None of the furniture is suitable or coordinated for the space it is all bashed about or well past its used by date. The kitchen is miniscule and has no space for groceries apart from on the tiny bench or table. The supplies are miserly we didn’t even have a saucepan or salt & Pepper. I was stunned. The bathroom is open to the bedroom which did not seem lux to me. I had a minuscule view of the river through the overgrowth. The feeling all three of us had was that the family who owns the property are no longer caring about the cabins or the guests in the cabins or boutique rooms that their focus is on the campers who are self supporting that you get what they are prepared to make available when you are not camping. However, they are still going to charge you the same price as if you are getting everything we got a cabin, some poorly done amateur event, and a food truck for $350 per night that’s how much they cared. As said none of us could have done another night no matter what you paid us our greatest pleasure was leaving.

WOW !!! what can a I say fantastic, Awesome, friendly and professional From the moment my Daughter and now son-in-law took me to view the facilities when they were booking the venue for there wedding just amazing, Sally answered all of our questions right up to booking and leading up to the wedding she is so professional and helpful I cant say enough great things about her. Now to the day of the wedding perfect perfect perfect Sally and Jordan and the rest of the staff (cant remember all of there names) went out of there way to make sure the day was so special for my daughter and the whole bridal party, bent over backwards for her and everyone else, nothing was a problem especially when I probably bugged them a lot asking questions all day LOL. Food was amazing, have I mentioned how friendly and helpful they are. From setting up tables to organising everything that I had forgotten and so many staff to make the day extremely 10 out of 10 Thank you all so much We even stayed for mothers day lunch and that was perfect. So not are they fantastic for weddings they are also fantastic for all occasions. I could keep going on and on about how great they are, but I better stop or I will run out of amazing things to say 5 stars all the way Regards Jeff

We stayed here for a week. Loved it all. Dance for New Year’s Eve was great so much fun. The cafe was good to get hot chips and take away coffee. The restaurant was very good. A great meal. Staff are so friendly. Couldn’t do enough for you. Run by a local family which is great. Met the granddaughter who served us at the bar and we got to hear the family history of Riverwood. Thank you for one of the best holidays our family has had.

We were there for a family wedding. It is a lovely location but it would be best if you had a 4 wheel drive to get there as the dirt road is extremely bad and long. It was very hot and the air con was not very cold. We stayed in a spa motel room as we only wanted to stay 1 night and the cabins had a minimum 2 night stay. Spa wall is very high and had to be careful getting in and out to have a shower. Is advertised as tea and coffee making facilities, this usually means jug, tea and coffee sachets, sometimes little biscuits and cups and spoons. All we had was a jug, upon checking out I mentioned all of this was missing (as I didn’t want to be charged for missing items) I was told that shouldn’t have happened as they had a few days to get the rooms ready. I was offered a barista coffee, which I said Thank you but declined as we just needed to get going as we had a 5 hour drive ahead of us. Luckily we had travel mugs in the car from the day before and our own coffee sachets, borrowed a spoon from the room next door and had a cuppa to go. I would not recommend.

Stayed 3 nights in a Riverview Spa Cabin. These cabins are located about 150m away from the main caravan park. The cabins are old with lots of cobwebs on the balcony and externals. There is no river view as the undergrowth in front of the balconies obscure this. Inside there are 2 rooms. A bedroom containing the bed, spa, shower and toilet. In the other room is a mini kitchen and lounge area. Having the toilet in the bedroom with no doors was not appealing. There were no BBQ’s available nearby, Overall felt the cabins were run down and in need of improvement.
