Mangy Moose Motel

The pillow are so nice and comfortable. The shower felt so invigorating, after a long day out fishing. This was the second time staying here and there will be more stays. I highly recommend staying here. Also a short walk to anywhere in down town Grand Marais, MN.

Booked online. Easy. Paid a downpayment. Expected. Prior to arrival 1-2 weeks, I received an email with DETAILED facts, questions, basic how things are run information. Impressive. The day of arrival automatically paid balance of room. They sent the code to get into the door. Prior to arrival I asked for a couple extra pillows, they responded with..there are 4 on each bed, do you need more? No. Room was very inviting upon arrival. Everything was very clean, nicely arranged, and the beds and pillows are SUPER comfortable. Would recommend anyone to stay here again!

Sure...on our trek around the beautiful North Woods, we saw moose, deer, wolves, waterfowl, hawks, and myriad chipmunks -- not to mention spectacular scenery highlighted by red, gold, and orange leaves, aplenty. However, at the close of a spectacular day, it always was wonderful to come home to the comfort and solitude of the Mangy Moose, enjoy a glass of wine, and discuss where to dine that evening. And, of course, that took some discussion...there are so many fine dining establishments nearby! The Moose was clean, comfortable, quiet, and private, and provides the amenities one expects while vacationing. We'll be back!

I have managed 2 hotels but I have always preferred to stay in a motel that I can park right outside my door. I will say right off the bat that this is absolutely the nicest motel I have ever stayed in. Very clean, no odors, everything looks fresh and not run down. I have to travel to Grand Marais MN once a month. My only regret is that the MM closes for the winter. Otherwise I would stay there every month.

Loved the community aspect of the motel and met some great people. Ian was very very great to work with and very very easy on the eyes as well. I wasn't able to book 2 nights but Ian let me know about the hotel across the street. Which even though it was expensive, I still enjoyed that as well.

My bestie & I stayed here one night while on a North Shore hiking & biking get away. We found the Mangy Moose Motel to be clean, comfortable & right in the middle of all the activity of Grand Marais which made walking around town very convenient. Would definitely reccommrnd.
