Lovely hotel that we would recommend: centrally located in the heart of Grasmere, extremley friendly and responsive staff, spacious and very nice room with comfortable bed, nice breakfast. Great base for exploring the area. Grasmere is a lovely small town/ large village. Easy, nice: go!

We have stayed here before & enjoyed it. This time the breakfast was very poor. We were the first ones to arrive for breakfast & found not a lot of food available. 1 yoghurt no fresh fruit, poor bread, no bacon, hash browns or beans. Another couple got their breakfast before us self service) & we were left with half a sausage & scrambled egg! There was also no water in the room this time either for the kettle which was also disappointing. We will probably stay in Keswick next time.

Absolutely amazing hotel, right in the heart of the prettiest village in the Lake District. The room was perfect, beds and pillows very comfortable. Breakfast was so enjoyable and the attention to detail is so refreshing very dog friendly as his Grasmere thoroughly recommend this beautiful hotel in the middle of paradise.

We stayed here in August and couldn’t have asked for better! The room was large and the bed was so comfortable! The quality of the furniture and bedding was beautiful! Definitely gives the luxurious feel! Free parking at the front of the hotel too!! The staff were really friendly and helpful, giving advice of best places to go to! Although not a traditional fry up I preferred this with homemade breads, jams and biscuits! We had poached eggs made to order and beautiful sausages! We have already booked our return! See you again soon!

We stayed in room 11 and were really pleased with the room. It was spacious with a comfortable bed. The place was spotless throughout and had a laid back feel, which we liked. The bathroom was luxurious with a shower and a separate spa bath. Again spotless however the glass door to the bathroom wasn’t ideal, leaving us with no privacy. The location is stunning and central to the village and handy for the shops and cafes etc and we could come and go as we pleased. On arrival we were greeted by whom I can only assume is the manager, slightly eccentric but a nice man. Check in was a bit rushed but we were fine with that. The only negatives really was that it would have been nice to have an iron in the room. I did ask for one but it never arrived. I realise it’s not a hotel but not everyone who stays are hikers. The spiral stairs to the top floor, where we were are way too steep. We are in our 50s and we struggled. There were elderly people in rooms next to us so I don’t know how they managed. They could do with a lift if it were possible. Parking isn’t great. Breakfast was a bit awkward, we are both vegan and we went elsewhere the first morning but we were told that if we got to the kitchen at 9.40 the next morning , there would be vegan sausages waiting for us. We got there on time only to discover we had been forgotten about. The manager did his best but we had to wait and it was a bit uncomfortable and ended up with 2 sausages and some beans. No vegan butter etc. A bit of extra thought would go a long way. We were booked to stay for 2 nights and asked if we could stay a third but unfortunately they couldn’t accommodate us and we booked in to the Wordsworth Hotel next door. What a mistake that was, not a patch on the Moss Grove. We would have crawled back on our knees if they could have taken us back! Regardless of everything, it was a lovely place, with a relaxed and friendly vibe,clean, spacious and we would love to go there again one day.

This is the most perfect bnb in the most perfect location. It’s small and intimate and you are made to feel valued as a guest. The room was really comfortable, immaculately clean. Lovely bathroom with really lovely toiletries. Now onto the breakfast 🤩 this is the jewel in the crown. Cereals, yoghurt, fruit, seeds, bread, crostinis, cold meats, cheese, olives, tomatoes, eggs, sausage, mushrooms. It really is above and beyond. Perfect for fuelling up before a big walk.
