Viticcio

The accommodation is located on top of a bottling factory - you will see multiple films exhibiting the terrible noise created every day from early hours, also workers around the factory fixing tractor vehicles and talking / shouting - making our holiday into a nightmare. Having paid 5700 EUR for this holiday that our children and us waited for all year long this is unacceptable. The apartment is facing the owner's wine tasting place which is under the windows - where people are drunk, speak loud and laugh - you will see the films and photos of people misbehaving and buses coming in - that was every day. Combined with the factory noise making the situation impossible given the noise. The swimming pool was not confined only for guests - as you would see in the picture some people just walked in and used the pool, also making noise. You can see they don't have the hotel towels. They were allowed by the owners - we don't know why.

We loved taking a tour here! The woman showing us around was super knowledgeable of the wine industry, history of Chianti, and of their wine. After the tour, you do a tasting of various wines and they were all delicious. It was about a 50 minute drive from Florence and we took the scenic route.

What a beautiful setting with the Tuscany hills surrounding this winery! We were lucky enough to spend 2 nights & the villas were rustic type. We did not have a car but was able to walk into town & bring back pasta/sauce/fresh bread for dinner since there was a full kitchen. (Would have loved to have a cappuccino & croissant for breakfast but too far to walk just for breakfast) they only had coffee pods in room with Some crackers☹️ we did a wine taste with Mateo who was phenomenal! We all had a great tasting and tour & bought 2 cases of wine- very good & reasonable!

My wife and I came for the day to tour the winery, have lunch, and do a wine tasting. I was there in September so the grapes were on the vine and the harvest process was in full swing. Matteo was our guide for the day and he was instrumental in helping make this day so memorable and enjoyable. I loved seeing, smelling, tasting, and learning about the end to end process of wine and wine from Chianti. The tastings were generous and I took home several bottles afterwards. Additionally, lunch was a generous portion of absolutely beautiful and fresh food. I wholeheartedly endorse.

We only spend a weekend at Viticcio, but it made an phenomenal impression on us. The staff is very nice and made us feel at home immediately. The apartment is simple but has everything you need during your stay. The apartment is clean and the bed sleeps fine. The apartment has its own bbq, but next to the pool is a great place spend the evening drinking wine and eating roasted meat or vegetables. The wine tasting is a must at Viticcio. The hostess Olivia is very nice and knows everything about the wines they produce at Viticcio.

We spent two nights at Fattoria Viticcio and thoroughly enjoyed it. Check in was a little tricky as we were late and the hotel didn't advise us that there was a 6pm cutoff, but they left very detailed instructions so it all worked out. Room was as per the pictures- very nice overall, spacious, good kitchen, not a "4 star hotel" but we didn't pay for one. Beds are a bit hard, bathroom fixtures a bit chintzy. Grounds are lovely, pools are fantastic. Winery tour and tasting was great, Olivia was our guide and was very knowledegable and engaging. Viticcio is a 5-minute drive from Greve in Chianti, so lots of opportunity to pop in for a meal in a restaurant or some groceries.
