A fuir

Having been fortunate enough to have stayed at the hotel and been the only guests for 3 out of the 8 days we were there. This gave us a unique experience of the hotel and the staff. We felt like we had our own private hotel. The hotel has a very local feel to it with an impression of being submerged in the forest surrounded by greenery. So much wildlife and the sound of the ocean constant crashing on the beach The team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome comfortable and at home. As an eco hotel with full board we were not sure how it would be and if we would enjoy the experience. The locally sourced fresh food was amazing and could not be faulted. We could not help but leave empty plates after every meal. We would highly recommend viewing the video on the iPad provided in the room. This will give you a better idea of the resort and how it works. If travelling with younger kids or fussy eaters the hotel was very flexible and help making some simple foods for it 4 year old son. We were lucky enough to visit Sri Lanka at New Year and the team were very kind to arrange a special breakfast and involve us with the traditional ceremonies, celebrations and games and even planting the trees❤️ After this vacation we felt so comfortable we almost felt like we were at home. I’m sure everyone has different experiences and when visiting new places but our was just perfect for us. We would highly recommend this resort to any of our friends or anyone planning to visit Sri Lanka. We would like to thank our hosts, again, for the amazing time we had in the Ravana Garden resort! Will be back for sure ♥️

Ravanna Gardens is so beautiful! the staff, beach , pool, gardens all are wonderful and relaxing!! The food is out of this world!! On our first arriving at the hotel after a long journey we were sad to see building works going on next door, however’ this did not distract in anyway whatsoever from our enjoyment ! in fact once we knew that it is where their local spices are being made packaged and went to Australia all employing local people we soon snapped some up! lOur luggage was immediately taken to our beautiful huge room with a view of the ocean , a gorgeous bathroom with an outside shower to enjoy the nature, all enhanced by superb cleanliness the whole of our stay! Being an eco credentials hotel we were pleased to acknowledge that they would only clean our room every 3 days unless we wanted anything else, which we were more than happy with, who needs a towel or linen changed each day really anyway , that’s just such a waste of resources and environmentally unfriendly, and would not be done at home! The pool was beautiful for laps before breakfast and dips in during the day. The beach like all beaches in Sri Lanka are not without rubbish and Sri Lanka as a whole should deal with that environmental issue. At the end of the beach, 500m from the hotel beach entrance is a harbour wall with a fun and safe swimming area. There are also some small sea pools intermittently dotted along the beach with a lovely clear blue shallow sea for a cool down. The hotel is all about looking after you and this they do well , we cannot rate all the staff highly enough, wanting to make your stay as best as possible they really cannot do enough. The food is exceptional, organic, local, fresh, freshly prepared to your own taste. Each night was a special treat and very unexpected! Lots of activities both with a cost and free can be arranged. The fishing boats are wonderful to watch in the mornings. Bike rides to the temple is a must inside reveals what happened during g the tsunami. must! and go to the local shops to see the real Sri Lanka and you never know you may be able to help a family make heir lives a little easier. Enjoy Sri Lanka but remember its had a really hard time and needs us tourists. Wish we had stayed longer!! Enjoy its local and wild charm, 5star is not all about bling!!

An amazing find. Beautiful location and hotel with a wonderful ethos. Nothing was too much trouble for every member of staff especially Lakshitha, Nishantha and Iresha. The food was amazing and having no menu really worked. Would totally recommend.

My husband and I recently spent 8 wonderful days at this resort. The hotel is hidden away alongside a wonderful beach and beautiful access and views to the Indian Ocean. Our room was clean and very well equipped with tea/coffee fresh drinking water ,AC and a wonderful ocean view. There was an outside shower attached to the bathroom with all the necessary toiletries provided. The food at this hotel is cooked by two local women and was amazing. Having 5, 7 course food, freshly cooked with locally grown produce and served by a lovely young professional man by the name of Malith who was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about each meal he served was a real pleasure. I loved the experience of no menu to choose from which led me to taste fabulous food I may have not been so adventurous to try. One evening our dinner was served on the beach, it was quite an experience dining whilst hearing the waves crashing... All of the staff are very professional, helpful and polite. Dilki was constantly on hand , arranged excursions for us and checked in with us daily . It was necessary some days for my husband to work from the hotel. The hotel has excellent Wifi , at the time my husband needed to work Dilki arranged for his lunch to be served in the room they provided overlooking the pool. Thilak took us for a manageable walk up the Ussangoda mountain, he is very knowledgable about the history and the area.On the way we saw turtles swimming which was an awesome sight ! Once we arrived at the top staff were waiting with a cold drink and snacks. Our second excursion was the boat safari , this was breathtaking and not to be missed . The bird life was amazing but for me it was coming to the end of the river by boat and seeing where the river meets the Indian Ocean, it was simply amazing ! During our stay we were privileged to take part in the distribution of 200 books and writing equipment to local school children. These items were donated by the hotel, it was great to see such community spirit. If you are looking for luxury by the way of furnishings then this is not the place for you ...but if you are looking for the luxury of staying at an hotel committed to sustainability and leaving a small imprint on the landscape then this is the place. To stay where there is no tv, telephone , to walk through gardens and see each tree named and labelled with its medicinal properties . Having locally grown ,freshly prepared food cooked and served by local staff . This we believe to be real luxury....so much so we are returning to this hotel in April this year.

We occupied the entire hotel on our 2 day visit to Ravana Garden. The entire concept is just wonderful. From the time we arrived at the hotel to the time we left we were reminded about how much harm we cause to the environment during our everyday living. The concern for the environment is very evident in the way food is prepared, amenities in bedrooms etc. I would say the food and service was the highlight of our trip. The effort put into sourcing the most freshest of vegetables, fruits, seafood etc is commendable. Even butter and cheese are produced at the hotel. The vegetable preparations were amazing. We actuallly did not miss not eating pork, beef and other processed food. Even the spices used to prepare the meals were extremely fresh. Dilki, Lakshitha, Hashini and the team took excellent care of us and always very obliging. The location of the property is very private and relaxing. We had the beach almost to ourselves. It was indeed a memorable holiday. We wish the staff and the owners of the hotel the very best.

Just a shame! My and my family booked this hotel for 4 nights. We should have hade a triple room with a private pool for 430€ per night. First of all, it’s really hard to get there: no signs, the road was dirt and tortuous. At the entrance we immediately understood it was not the luxury 5 star hotel we thought we had booked. All the buildings are surrounded by scaffoldings. The smell all over the place is indescribable. And the bbq or restaurant are totally unwell kept. We asked to show us our room: dirty, smelly, the third bed looked like a cot near a dirty window. We didn’t see a bathroom inside the room. The pool looked more like a dirty puddle and from it came a strong smell of drain. The beach was disgusting and not kept at all. We had to ask for a refund and leave after almost 5 hours of traveling. The place is not the one we had seen in the pictures!!! For sure it doesn’t belong to any of the categories that were described. I’ve seen much cuter b&b than this supposed 5 star hotel.

We came from Melbourne to Sri Lanka in mid-December and stayed at Ravana Garden for nearly a week during our vacation. I usually don't write reviews, but I couldn’t resist sharing my experience. They embrace sustainable practices to the core, focusing on reducing their carbon footprint. My son absolutely loved our sea-view room, which was spacious, clean, and offered a spectacular view. Our son is a very fussy eater, but he loved the food at Ravana Garden, especially their yellow chicken curry! Even though we visited some other hotels during our trip, he enjoyed Ravana Garden the most and still talks about it.Hotel restaurant offers a great selection of locally sourced organic foods, providing nutritious options that complement your wellness journey. We had fantastic meals that were fresh and bursting with flavor. Rvana Garden signature sushi collection was my favourite. Despite being a very fussy eater, my son especially enjoyed the Ravana Garden cuisine, with the yellow chicken curry becoming his absolute favorite!Their food is prepared using their own back to origins products. These products—available in Australia—are made from all-natural ingredients, without any artificial flavours or preservatives and are truly out of this world, but the meals at Ravana Garden took the flavors to a whole new level. We even purchased a big stock of their back to origin spices before leaving the hotel. My wife and I also had a relaxing spa session, which left us feeling completely rejuvenated. The hotel spa offers personalized treatments, ensuring each guest receives an experience tailored to their individual needs. The staff were incredible and took care of all our needs. We love that this hotel hires locally and supports community programs. It felt good knowing that our stay was helping the local area thrive, you could truly see the effort they put into sustainability.Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend it.
