"Had an enjoyable stay. Excellent position in the town centre. Would use again but felt there was some issues that could be addressed or noted on the information. Flat 2 was up two flights of stairs which could be an issue and this should be noted. We struggled to find the apartment as it is down a very small side street off the main road. Also there are some up and down steps to access the entrance door. We felt some lighting on these would have been beneficial as they were dangerous in the dark. We couldn’t find a teapot and had to use the coffee pot. Personally I would have liked a shelf or small table in the bathroom to put my toiletries on. A bulb needs replacing as it was flickering all the time. But other than this I would recommend it to others."

"Spent two nights in this very well appointed Herdwick wagon , only wish it had been longer . The three wagons are set back from the rear car park and elevated so some feeling of privacy and seclusion. Our wagon was very clean and surprisingly spacious with a fully functional shower room/toilet with heated floor , what a treat. The wagon also had a lovely little pot bellied stove which on colder days would have made it very cozy , unfortunately for us the weather was superb in the high 20’s . The bed was particularly comfortable and large and after a days hike , a lovely meal and pint in the pub was the perfect end to the day . So often the first night in a new bed in unfamiliar surroundings can be uneasy ….. no such issue here in this tranquil setting with only the distant sound of sheep . Highly recommend , if we ever return to Yorkshire we will for sure wish to stay here but for longer . I should also say everyone we met employed at pub/restaurant were extremely friendly and helpful."

"Hotel needs some serious investment. Bathroom not clean and only one towel - asked for more and was given 3 hand towels! Reported light not working in bathroom - did not get fixed in the 3 days we were there. Breakfast was very poor - no staff so no clean tables and had to wait for food to be replenished all 3 days we were there. Asked for a drink from the bar on Sunday lunchtime and told no staff aged over 18 on duty in the hotel to serve us! How can this be? Have stayed numerous times before and always recommended to others, would not recommend now! We paid almost £800 for three nights (2 rooms), and felt no value for money at all."

"Checking out today. We’ve stayed here many times and it’s become our ‘go to’ hotel in Harrogate. The manager, Betty, has been there for many years and always makes time to make guests feel welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for Betty and her team. It’s a budget hotel but very comfortable and great value. The central location is ideal and there are lots of amenities nearby, including a good Wetherspoons next door for a cheap meal or drink. We’ll be back again before too long, no doubt."

"Took my parents here for Sunday lunch yesterday. Can’t fault the food, however the service was severely lacking. Constantly waiting around for everything. Order to be taken, food, dessert menu. Asked for the bill and we had to go out to the bar to see if we could pay there l, as got fed up waiting (again!) I was minded to ask them to remove the 12.5% service charge as the service was well below par. I Expect better service from an establishment like Rudding Park, this was my third visit , not sure I would return."

"Parking in car park is for 5 cars if not disks in hallway for those needing to park on road. Room was bright and light with a lovely big window and bathroom was very nice and clean with soap and shampoo etc. downside of the room is that the curtains let all the light through them and we are both people who prefer blackout blinds so it didn’t provide us with the best sleep. Mattresses definitely need changed as you can tell they’ve had a lot of use or it’s not that good quality. The bedding is also very noisy so you hear every movement. Cold water tap in bathroom ran hot for about 2 minutes before you can get any cold which is annoying, however shower is lovely. Annoyingly there was No full length mirror in the room. Breakfast was ok with a select few cereals and yogurts. No fresh fruit is available which is annoying and yes I did ask. They seem to focus more on cooked breakfast. Guests staying in the same place need to be reminded of being quiet first thing in the morning or late at night as in the apartment 2 floors below kept us awake one night and two out of 3 mornings we were awoken at 7am by noisy guests talking. Only major positive was that it is in excellent walking distance of the centre for food and shops. The lady who served us breakfast was also very friendly."
