Travelodge by Wyndham Ridgeway Martinsville Area

Pleasantly surprised at how clean this place was, hard to find now days, friendly staff. Easy in and out, quiet. Nice over all place to stay if in the area. Would go here next time if in this area, close to towns.

This hotel was without a doubt the worst I have ever stayed in, in my life. I knew it was an inexpensive hotel and therefore don't expect very much. In this case I didn't feel safe. The door frame was screwed back together like it had been forced open. The paint on the walls was chipping and walls were gouged. It was clearly smoked in because of the stench and a cigarette burt was behind the toilet which was the type you would expect in a rest area. The heat/ac was a window unit cut in the wall with blue painters tape to block out air. Afraid to even turn it on it looked filthy. Curtain on the window was falling apart and the bed linens had cigarette burns in them. We had our dog with us because it was pet friendly. No where in the 3rd party description was an additional pet fee mentioned. My dog was probably cleaner than this room. The only thing that was positive was there were so few people in the place that it was fairly quiet. The desk person did appear to try to be professional as if we were in a nicer establishment but that was never going to make up for it. They put us in our room because that was supposedly the only pet friendly king they had available and they were going to shampoo the carpets again the next day. I almost got up in the middle of the night and left it was that bad. Non refundable so no way to seek reimbursement. Just please heed this warning. Don't stay there unless you are ok with all of this....I'm not!

The motel is not new and doesn't have all of the amenities that the bigger/newer hotels have. However, the staff is super friendly and will do whatever they can to make your stay comfortable. The room was clean and convenient for us as we were there for the NASCAR race.

Inhospitable impression at checkin, poor repair of door from last police(?) breach into room, peeling wallpaper in bathroom, a guest laundry room without lighting. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels in my 76 years and this one ranks at the bottom. Wyndham should pull their franchise!!!

We stayed there for two nights for the Martinsville NASCAR race in April 2022, and our main objective was to be able to walk to the track. True the motel is not pretty or new and needs a total refurbishment, but the sheets and bathroom were clean and the shower was hot. The lobby had a good selection of packaged breakfast items and coffee, and the manager came around in the afternoon to see if we needed any fresh linens. And when cars were still trying to get out of the parking lots hours after the race ended, we were especially happy that we stayed there.

We stayed two nights here as it is walking distance from the Nascar track. We picked it for its location, not amenities, and were pleasantly surprised all around. The room was sparkling clean and smelled great. It had a fridge, couch, microwave and even a jacuzzi tub (I think they upgraded us). The bed, towels, sheets were all decent quality. The motel felt safe and we never heard any of our neighbors. The office provided a better than expected continental breakfast, including breakfast sandwiches. They had coffee, tea and a variety of snacks available all day. What really stood out was the friendly service from the management. The owner was incredibly nice. He walked around and checked on everyone in the afternoon to see if we needed anything. I asked for an extra pillow and he said he'd do what he could, as the motel was sold out for the race. About an hour later the owner's family shows up with brand new pillows from the store! I don't think they'd do that at a 5 star resort! The blonde guy behind the front desk was also super friendly. He gave us some recommendations for a local hike. We would 10/10 stay again for the race.
