This was my first time in Higashine and I felt very welcomed in the Ryokan. As a designer I appreciated the fact that it has a "vintage" touch to it. It is old fashioned, but in a good way. But that might not be to everyones liking. The garden was beautiful and the Ryokan itself provides a peaceful atmosphere. It is in a perfect location to go to town by foot, restaurants close by. The manager was very kind and always joyful with a smile. The man at the front desk was helpful even though with minimal English knowledge. The onsen was very nice and my pain went ways within three days. The food was amazing with lots of variety. They also provided futons upon our arrival, because some of us had come from the airport. There was a bit of confusion the second day about the cleaning. It wasn't communicated well, we went out and when we came back, they came back to clean a second time (?) Hot water for tea was missing that morning. But really, in general is was a great experience. I will certainly come back.
