Our stay at Forest Edge was an absolute nightmare. Upon arrival, we were left waiting for over 30 minutes at filthy tables littered with dirty plates and glasses. When someone finally came to take us to our room, they tried upselling us to a more expensive option, which we declined. Eventually, we were shown to our room, and it was a complete disaster. The room was nothing like what we had booked. Our booking promised a pool view, fireplace, kitchenette, washing machine, private entrance, and more. Instead, we were given a cramped space with a bed barely six inches off the floor. The room was dirty, crawling with ants, and the bathroom reeked due to a window that opened directly onto the bins. To make matters worse, the poorly fitted door let in noise and insects. When we raised these issues with the manager, he became confrontational, waving his hands and raising his voice, insisting that this was the only room available. He even told us to cancel our booking if we weren’t happy. It was already dark, pouring with rain, and we’d driven three hours to get there, so we had no choice but to stay. Despite the awful conditions, they refused to offer any compensation or solutions, and we were forced to pay full price for this terrible experience. This is the worst experience of accommodation I have ever had. Thankfully, we found a much better alternative just 1 km away for the next night: Rainforest Nest. It’s peaceful, clean, and run by the kindest hosts. Save yourself the trouble and stay there instead!
