Hotel Strandlyst is an old classic beach hotel. Part of the inventory and various fittings dates back to the 1950’ and 60’, which is very charming. I love the old keys for opening the room doors (no key cards here!) The curtains in my room were almost transparent, so you are sure to wake up early with the sun. Be very careful with the hot water which is close to boiling point! The hotel does not have its own restaurant, however, they appear to have cooperation with a restaurant down on the beach, about 15 min. walk from the hotel, which seem to cater mainly for German tourists. A better choice is Farmors Køkken [Grandma’s Kitchen] which is located only 50 meters from the hotel and have a great menu of fresh seafood in a very cosy setting. The breakfast buffet is quite basic, with only some bread and cheese and with coffee, tea and juice.
