Overall, I had a mixed experience during my one-night stay. Check-in was smooth, and Keanu at the front desk was friendly, professional, and very helpful, which made for a great first impression.
Unfortunately, that impression changed when I entered the room. There was a large hairball on the floor, and it was obvious that the mirrors, windows, and glass surfaces had not been properly cleaned. They were covered with milky handprint residue and streaks that were visibly dripping down the glass, which was disappointing.
One reason I chose this hotel was the opportunity to do Pilates or yoga on the beach. Since I was only staying one night—and it happened to be a Tuesday, the only day those classes are not offered—I wasn’t able to participate. I also went to watch the sunrise by the pool, but the pool area and towel service didn’t open until 8:00 a.m., which limited the experience.
It also appeared there was a large dance competition taking place during my stay. As a result, many of the public areas were noticeably untidy, with food drips in the elevators and lobby, pizza boxes piled high beside overflowing rubbish bins, and hairpieces scattered throughout the hallways. I suspect the hotel is normally much nicer, but it struggled to keep up with the volume of guests during this event.
I was also disappointed that no effort appeared to have been made to clear the significant amount of seaweed from the beach, making it much less enjoyable than expected.
On a positive note, I really enjoyed the pool, and the cushioned lounge chairs were especially comfortable and supportive for my back. I also appreciated that the hotel offers a 21+ adults-only pool deck. Interestingly, though, it seemed that other guests were enforcing the adults-only rule more consistently than hotel staff.
With better attention to housekeeping, cleanliness during large events, and beach maintenance, this hotel has the potential to provide a much better overall experience.
