I was on a solo trip and went for a spa day on the 3rd September. I had booked dinner in the evening as well because I have dined at Atzaro before and loved it. I arrived and it was raining heavily, which can’t be helped. Due to the weather, the place was empty. I asked at reception where the spa is. ‘Round the corner’ I was told. I go and am completely lost - any time I asked a staff member for direction, they simply pointed to the way. When I finally get to the spa desk, I was just given a key, and told where the locker room is. No towel, no walkthrough the spa area, or the locker room, explaining where everything is - which you would expect from a 5 star establishment. I had my massage which was really good. And also lunch at the restaurant. Staff were very pleasant, food was not that great though. By this point I was still holding onto my travel bag, as I still couldn’t find the locker room. When I did find it afterwards, I somehow managed to make my way into the men’s locker room (that’s how lost I was) which was pretty embarrassing. Managed to finally find the ladies locker room and put my stuff away. I then found a daybed with an ashtray next to it, i picked up the ashtray and all the contents of it went all over my clothes. After that, I just left, I’d had enough. Even though I’d paid 200 euros for a full spa day experience. Also cancelled dinner in the evening- as well as reservation at Atzaro Beach the following day, that’s how disappointed I was. It’s such a shame because I was really looking forward to the Atzaro experience having heard great reviews. I appreciate the weather was bad but that should not impact customer service.
