The Craven Heifer Addingham

This had been on my list of places to try for some time and we were not disappointed. The pub itself is lovely and the staff were very pleasant and attentive. We ordered the beef shin lasagne bites & gochujang chicken. Both were delicious and the portions very generous (we should have shared!). Then we had the steak pie with homemade chips and Venison steak with dauphinoise potatoes. Both dishes were again presented beautifully. We weren't as keen on the venison, as it was extremely *****, more so than normal, but this did not put us off our overall experience. We will definitely return.

We had Sunday lunch with family it was our second visit. The steak pie was amazing top marks to the chef. Great staff excellent service, very efficient and delicious food which we all enjoyed. The whole experience was very pleasant we will be retuning

Stayed two nights in the Big Splash room. Lovely spacious room and bathroom, comfortable bed, nice quality towels and bedding. Temple Spa toiletries and spotlessly clean. Breakfasts and dinner were all delicious, with excellent service from staff. Very good value for money.

Myself, my husband and my parents in-law booked for the first themed dining experience which was France, the food was truly divine! It was evident the chefs knew exactly what they were doing, the service was phenomenal, the waitresses dressed to the theme, flags around the restaurant etc. There was not one fault with the whole experience it was a great and I can’t wait for Greek night next! The whole team should be super proud of themselves for their first one it was a great success!!

Sorry but I'm afraid you're not going to like this. My friend and I booked for 6.15 on Sunday 27/04/25. We ordered 2x mussels and 2x ribeye steaks. We were advised there was only 1x steak left. My friend changed his order to a duck wrap I think. Mussels were OK - very large shells but very small contents (so there looked to be more than there actually was) My friend was content with his wrap dish. My steak was brought as "rare" as I ordered. It was extremely tough so much so that I could not eat much of it it and I do like rare steaks. It also had something of a strange taste (hard to describe - a bit sort of metallic), maybe that came from the jus whatever that was meant to be it was not good. The fondant potatoes were undercooked and the asparagus was the same if not more so. (I do recall that there was reference to venison on the menu somewhere - is it possible that there was a mix-up) Why didn't I complain? -I did not want to cause a scene - I am not good at complaining. We left without having dessert or coffee. As somebody fairly local who eats out once a week generally, I was very disappointed

Visited with my wife and her friend. Having dined here a number of times without a problem. However on this occasion part of the meal was not enjoyed. I ordered Rack of Lamb served pink. It was very enjoyable. My wife and her friend ordered to Fish and Chips. The dishes were delivered and within a minute, the waitress came to ask if all was ok. This before the meals had been started. My dish was fine but the Fish had very soggy batter. And was cut away from the fish and left. My moral to this is to either the chef, to get his fat to a higher temperature to fully cook the batter. Or to the customer, don't order Fish and Chips in a public house restaurant. My other beef was the price of wine is very high. At the point of pricing itself out.
