« Wake up with mt Kinabalu view. Wake up by nearby roaster coukoo wake u up! sunrise from the back of the villa. With big big mirror.. you can on your pajamas and enjoy the big TV watching the sunrise break the peak of mt Kinabalu. We gotten couple villa 5, can stay up to 4 pax. Downstair parking + kitchen. Upstairs bed, toilet & tv, walk to garden, bbq pit etc. Dawn, catch the beautiful sunsetting sky.. peace environment. Suitable for group gathering. Host update promptly. Encounter blackout.. but we get to enjoy firefly, start nights.. no aircond but hv hot shower. Kitchen provide cooking ware, microwave, stove, steamboat.. everything! Some Amenities still under construction.. still in progress. Look forward the complete one. »

« My room had a beautiful and relaxing view. Every morning, I woke up to the stunning sight of Mount Kinabalu right outside the window. The place is very child-friendly, with safe and fun areas for kids to play. It’s perfect for a family getaway, as everything is well-suited for both adults and children. The surrounding scenery is peaceful and green, making the whole stay feel calm and refreshing. The cool weather added to the comfort, making it a really enjoyable trip. And for sure, the staff were very kind and helpful, which made the experience even better. »

« Amenities in the room, such as hair dryer, iron, ironing board, kettle, cups, 3 in 1 coffee, tea, drinking water, towels, conditioning shampoo, shower gel and prayer mat for Muslims are available. There is no dental care kit, so bring your own. Otherwise, you'll have to drive a bit to buy one. It was my third time in Kundasang, so we rented a car and drove to the location. The road to the location is quite challenging if you're not used to the rural road. There are plenty of parking spaces there. I also saw guests with private tour guides who drove them around. I think that's a good idea, too. I booked the room with the mountain view, but the weather was not on my side. The mountain was in view very early in the morning when it was still dark, and then it was covered in clouds for the rest of the day. There is no aircon but a cute ceiling fan we didn't use because it was already cold. However, I wish I could open the windows without letting the bugs in. There were huge spiders making their webs near my window, and I dare not open it. The beds are okay - not the comfiest and only one rather flat pillow for our heads. We slept well nonetheless. We spent most of our time outside the room unless it's to shower or sleep. There's a cafe where we took our dinner to the outside dining area. The tables and chairs were scattered around so we had to arrange them ourselves. There is hot water, but at around 7am, the shower runs cold even with the water heater turned on. Could it be that everyone is showering at the same time? A simple breakfast is served at the cafe for the guests. When I was there, they had fried mi hun, French toast, sausages, baked beans, and eggs. There were two types of cereal. A bread station where you can toast your bread. Only white bread was available. Drinks were orange cordial, coffee, and tea. They replenish the food if finished, so don't worry about getting to the breakfast a bit late. The best thing about the whole trip was the booking, checking in, and checking out was hassle-free. Also, if you love flowers, walk around the place and admire their hydrangeas. »

« Voyage inoubliable ! Le paysage depuis la chambre du lodge est magnifique, l'expérience du feu de camp et le petit-déjeuner sont réputés pour être excellents dans la région de Kundasang. Cependant, le chauffage est défectueux. Personne (aînés et jeunes enfants) n'a pu se doucher avec de l'eau chaude. Ils doivent se doucher avec de l'eau glacée en montagne (froide la nuit). Les techniciens sont venus et n'ont pas été d'une grande aide. Il a fait remarquer que deux lodges partageaient le même réservoir d'eau, mais que l'eau chaude était toujours chaude… L'eau chaude était soit très chaude comme de l'eau bouillie, soit glacée. Le lit n'est pas confortable, les chambres sont poussiéreuses et les toilettes sont très vétustes. Le prix des chambres est très élevé compte tenu du fait que de nombreux équipements de base ne sont pas à la hauteur. »

« The view from the accommodations was super. Although there were no fans in the room but at night it was very cold, if only the water heater could be more effective it would have been a great stay. »

« Our stay here was absolutely magical! The weather was perfect—chilly and pleasant, with a nice breeze. Since we’re used to hot weather, it was like a dream come true. The reception area was huge and right next to it was a great restaurant that served delicious Nasi Goreng. There were plenty of parking spaces, and the resort itself was clean and well-maintained. The view was incredible! From our room on the Kinabalu Wing, we could see the majestic Mount Kinabalu. It was breathtaking! Just a heads up, the dirt and stone road leading to the resort is about 2.2 km long, and if you’re not used to it, it might be a bit bumpy. If you’re coming here for the first time, it’s best to arrive before dark. I’m definitely going back here again! Maybe next time, I’ll have a barbecue under the stars of Kinabalu. That would be epic! »

« 下次有機會一定還再來！ 酒店位置絕佳，性價比極高！我們包車的當地人都説好！可眺望神山，清晨傍晚尤美，小木屋與自然風光相得益彰！床鋪整潔，房間皆有大陽台。店家養有貓狗，它們性情温和友善，外出爬山時狗狗還會護送。老闆是華人後裔，中文流利，心地善良，見我們拖家帶口、沒車不便，便幫我們買麪包，還分享晚餐，執意不收錢，衹説我們是遠方來客。 入住注意事項如下： 動物：神山當地貓狗多散養，外出較自由，難以分辨流浪與否。雖多數友善，但遇貓狗最好保持安靜、禮貌及安全距離。 餐飲：酒店出售方便麪與零食，大露台有餐桌且可借用碗筷，但無餐飲服務。 交通：神山自由行有車更便利，但山中開車對車技、車況及動力有要求。我們包車兩天，含接送與遊玩，期間一天未包車，在酒店休息。 設施：對酒店軟硬件別期望過高，比如我們房間窗簾似被之前客人損壞，尚未更換或去污。 來山裡主要是體驗自然風光。 »

« the breakfast was seem to be not enough to served for the guests, the 1st day breakfast was run out the butter and 2nd day, the rice, bread and butter all not available, we end out to have breakfast outside the resort »

« July 2024 TL;DR: This place feels more like a meditation centre than a hotel, it will not provide you with supplements. It's a bare room. You need to bring toothbrush&paste and buy drinks somewhere as it is not provided. No tv and fan. No in-house restaurant. There are mosquitoes at the garden near afternoon, and the balcony at night, but there are no insects in the room (family room). In exchange you will get a very clear and vivid Mt Kinabalu view in the near-dawn morning (where there is no mosquito), a working shower with heater, concrete floor that reduces nearby noise, and cold foggy experience. Long: This place is within the fog path so you will get the foggy experience. You can also see Mt. Kinabalu at the right time and it looks quite close (e.g. dawn 6 a.m.). You can even see the electric towers and resthouse, it's that close. Moreover, this place is more like a meditation centre than a hotel. It is visibly run down probably since covid as that is also when the in-house restaurant got closed down. Considering my experience as a recurrent visitor of Kundasang, mosquito has always been the least of my concern. Somehow this place has lots of them. We got bit quite a lot in a short span of time. Undesirable / Cons: -No water kettle, no supplements (water bottle, coffee pack, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.). Porcelain mugs are provided though -No in-house cafe/restaurant but nearby has a few (400 meters at least) -No tv, no fan but cold in general -Quite a lot of mosquito and moths outside at the garden place in the afternoon and at the balcony connecting the 2 buildings at night. There are no electric zapper. -Seems a bit run down at the garden. 2 broken board pieces on the floor for example. -It has no Qibla for muslim people, at least in family room Desirable / Pros: -Big room. Not smelly -Is cement board floor -Big single beds. Not smelly -Clean bed. Fluffy cover. -Water heater is working for family room at least -Relatively clean inside room and at reception. No insects in room. No weird bugs around. -Has a table and chairs in room -Lots of electrical port -Wifi provided by hotel is strong (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz -Very near main road. So good road going towards the hotel -Aki-Aki trail starting point is nearby. Plan to go next time so no experience as of this review This place is not too bad. Not too good either. Personally, I wouldn't place this as my top place for the foggy and view considering other options but I don't mind returning if necessary. It will sure be much much better to highly recommended with much needed renovation and have some methods to deal with those mosquito. p.s. There's a cute puppy that invites you at the entrance. 😂 p.s.s. I saw a greater coucal gliding into the forest in the morning! »
