During the 1860s, the Pennsylvania Railroad Company laid tracks through the villages and farms, with the railroad line passing just across the road. For the next century, the building served as a residence on one side and a general store and post office on the other, becoming a frequent stop for travelers, railroad workers, and locals alike.In 2018, the Fisher family purchased the home, and they proceeded to update the residence and renovate the store, opening the Brickhouse Coffee & Kitchen later that same year. The cafe has been a hit with locals ever since, boasting a fantastic menu for breakfast and lunch, as well as a cold case with baked goods and drinks. Each guest of the vacation home receives a complimentary voucher for any beverage.As an Amish-owned home, there is no TV available, allowing families to disconnect from distractions and spend quality time together. However, WiFi is available for guests to use, as the family understands the need for connectivity.Guest parking is shared with café patrons, with one designated spot reserved for vacation home guests, and extra parking available in the overflow lot. It is fully stocked with spices, olive oil, Kcups, Sisel instant coffee and more. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms, 1 King bed and 1 Queen bed. And a spacious bathroom with a shower and a deep tub where you can soak away the weariness from a day of activities. The Living Room area has a comfortable corner couch with a decorative fireplace and a smart TV for you to log in to your own streaming accounts. When you reach the second flour you’ll be met with a small sitting area and a kids play area stocked with a toy kitchen, puzzles and toys. The second floor consists of 3 bedrooms and 1 Bathroom. There is 1 Queen bed, 2 Twin beds, and 1 bunk bed with a trundle pullout. And if your children like to read you might find them curled up on the beanbag in the little reading nook. Outside offers a beautiful,spacious backyard where the options of games are endless should you choose to bring your outdoor games with you.
