Welcome to the completely remodeled “Catch of the Bay” cottage! You will enjoy calling this beachy yet rustic location with a farmhouse theme your home during your stay. The home offers three bedrooms and one bathroom – one with a king bed, one with a queen bed and a third with single bunk beds. There is also a pull out couch if that more so meets your needs. The home offers a remodeled and fully stocked kitchen, laundry area/mudroom on the inside as well as a spacious back yard, fire pit, front and rear porch on the outside. You can cook your catch on the gas grill or eat your freshly caught crabs on the picnic table on the rear deck. The home is located close to grocery shopping and the local restaurants. Local amenities include Jane’s Island State Park, a small local beach, Gallery 413 (our local art gallery), as well as a public boat ramp for launching your boat for fishing and crabbing. Crisfield is a quaint small town that offers a low-key lifestyle but plenty of things to do if you want to find something to occupy your time. During your stay you will enjoy the privacy of your own yard, yet the amenities of being close to town. The town has a pristine and modern local library, and holds scheduled live music concerts at the City dock, which is the same dock that hosts beautiful sunsets. Somers Cove Marina offers transient boat slips if you want to leave your boat in the water while you are in town and park your boat trailer right at the house. Other guests have fished, boated and hunted, which is plentiful during the right season. Some say that the Deal Island Wildlife Management Area (WMA) is the mecca of duck hunting in the winter! The LaVallette House is where the Maryland terrapin originated! Albert Tallmadge LaVallette Jr. launched the terrapin soup industry from this very site. (You can still see the old terrapin pins beside the driveway.) In addition to the property’s historic charm, the location just can’t be beat. The five-bedroom house is completely private. Guests have to drive through wetlands to get to it, and the only neighbors in close proximity are the gulls and the fish in the Chesapeake Bay. The house is surrounded on three sides by water; you can see the Bay from all of its windows. Outside, you can sun yourself on the private beach, sit with a cool drink on the front porch, fish and crab from the bulkhead, or launch your boat or kayak from the dock. And the fishing’s great from the front yard! You hardly ever need to leave this place—but if you want to get out, downtown Crisfield offers charming restaurants, shops, an ice cream parlor, and plenty of places to get fresh crabs. Crisfield is known as the “Crab Capital of the World.” This home is unlike any other. It’s a perfect spot for family vacations, friends’ getaways, or writing retreats. This Queen Anne Victorian was built in the late 1800's. The main floor features a large updated kitchen with seating for 8-10; a family room with a Visio TV, WiFi, Apple TV, Direct TV; a formal dining area; a sitting room with a futon that sleeps two; and a queen bedroom with panoramic views of the Bay.
