Welcome to Bluestone Manor, a restored mountain home on 3 acres adjacent to the Bluestone State Park and Bluestone Lake. The home offers 3500 square feet and has everything you need for a perfect vacation in the mountains. Whether you like to hike, fish, hunt, golf, ski or simply hang out and read or watch movies, our home has it all.The four bedrooms sleep 10 in beds ( 1 king, 3 queens, 2 twins ) with a queen murphy bed and twin sleeper to round out the number to 13. You will enjoy watching movies and shows in our theater/media room with real reclining theater chairs and surround sound. The main living room also has an 85 inch TV with seating for 12 plus a table that seats 7-8. The fully stocked kitchen has all the appliances and amenities to prepare meals for large numbers including a 36 inch cooktop, two refrigerators, microwave, oven, air fryer, blender, and even a built-in icemaker capable of making 50 lbs of ice per day. We also have a stocked coffee bar with both drip and Keurig cup coffeemaker. The breakfast room table has a great view of the mountains and seats 6.The home has been completely remodeled with all new floors, paint, fixtures, and furnishings. The beds have high-end mattresses like Beauty Rest Black and Tempurpedic. Outside, you will find a huge flagstone patio with seating for 20 people including 4 soft recliners, two tables, a gas grill, and a propane fire table (bring the marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers).For music lovers, you will find a Yamaha Clavinova piano in the great room.As nice as the home is, the best part is its location. Bluestone State Park which borders the property offers hiking trails, a pool, picnic areas, and most importantly Bluestone Lake. The lake, which is part of the New River, is 10 miles long and is surrounded by the State Park and the Bluestone Wildlife Management Area. Opportunities abound for great boating and some of the best fishing in West Virginia. Just down the road about 15 minutes you will find Pipestem Resort State Park, the gem of West Virginia parks. At Pipestem there is every outdoor activity that there is. Whether it is golfing on the 18 hole golf course or the 9 hole short course, ziplining the 9 station zipline into the gorge, riding the gondola for a meal at the Mountain Creek Lodge, hiking one of the 20 trails, mountain biking, or having the kids play at the splash park, Pipestem has something for everyone.The home is also only a few miles from the newest National Park, the New River Gorge National Park. Offering more hiking, white water rafting on the New River, and some of the best views in the country, the park is open year round and at no charge!If you want to have some fun in the winter, Winterplace Ski Resort is only a 30 minute drive. Even if you don't ski, Winterplace has an awesome tubing center that will whisk you down the hill and carry you back up to do it all over again.We have stayed in a lot of mountain houses that are great, but are so far from civilization that even getting simple groceries is a long drive. Not so at Bluestone Manor. Hinton, WV is a 12 minute drive and offers a Kroger grocery store, a Walgreens pharmacy, and many restaurants. Hinton is also home to the Railroad Museum and has an Amtrak station. Lots of light is provided through the two story high windows and a huge wraparound deck and covered porch are easily accessed for outdoor dining. A stone fireplace with a pellet stove makes for cozy winters and above the fireplace whilst an authentic Black Bear watches over you. The kitchen of course is fully equipped with everything you would expect and the furniture in the living room is very comfortable. Towards the back, you will find the Master Bed Room with a queen bed. It connects to the Master bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, separate shower, toilet and a double vanity.The house offers easy access for those with moderate mobility problems, as we installed a gently sloping ramp between the parking lot and the front door.Upstairs, you will find two bed rooms, each with two twin beds. One of the two bed rooms has private access to the full bathroom with separate toilet, shower tub and double vanity. At the front of the house, there is a loft for relaxing with extensive views. On the lower level, you will find another bed room with a queen bed. The bathroom has a tiled shower, toilet and sink. The Family room offers a comfortable two seat sofa, a couch, an easy chair and a 42 inch TV. At the back of the cabin, there is a picnic table, fire pit and a park style grill. We are pet friendly please just message us letting us know you have a pet coming with you so we can approve them for your stay and send you the pet fee. The main level features a living room, Vaulted ceilings, Bear decor throughout the cozy cabin, flat screen TV in the living room, brand new queen size sleeper sofa, recliner, child’s rocking chair, and toys/ books for children. The bedroom features a brand new plush pillow top queen size mattress , tv, nightstand, bear lamp, and chest of drawers in the closet. The closet also has extra blankets, pillows for the sleeper sofa, a large comforter for the sleeper sofa, and extra sheets. There is also hangers in the closet. You will also find an iron and iron board if needed.There is also fully equipped kitchen and dining table, full bathroom/shower/ tub, and washer/dryer. We have a new Keruig that takes pods and will take ground coffee. We provide coffee pods and seasonal pods in the drawer below the Keurig. The deck features a 2 person hot tub and outdoor patio seating area. During the evening you may see deer crossing through the yard. In the morning, you will hear the birds singing. Enjoy a cup of coffee from the deck and watch the sunrise.The yard is very large for children to run around, dogs to play, and adults to play corn hole! The corn hole boards are in the shed. Built in 1902 this 3 bedroom 1 bath cozy little gem overlooks the river in a panoramic fashion. It's sits on top of the hill just above the river, on a dead end street, but still only moments from I-64. It's in the perfect location to see any end of the New River Gorge National Park, is hidden in plain sight, and is located just outside the park boundaries. The house is a little crooked but very charming. It has plenty of utensils, cast iron skillets, and spices to cook or grill, best well water around, black out shades, wifi, games, large yard, covered porch overlooking the river, and many more… also new I started to build a trail that leads into the woods behind the property but they aren’t completely done however you may explore around hill behind you and the surrounding fields and don’t forget to look at all the fossils everywhere. You will enjoy waking up and seeing the river before your feet even hit the floor, having your coffee on the porch in the mornings, watching eagles and other birds, deer, and the abundance of other wildlife in our park, also playing and exploring with your family. Pets are welcome and will enjoy lots of space to play. I provide puppy towels and a pooper scooper. The yard is also now fenced in and the large front porch has a gate so your furry friend has options for going outside to lay in the sun. It really is a hidden gem. C and J Cottage is located in the New River Gorge National Park, the newest national park. There is access to Sandstone Landing's patio alongside the New River, just a short walk down river from the home. The home is a fully furnished home with outdoor seating, a fire pit, and a beautiful river front view. It is a great starting point for exploring all the beautiful sites and attractions that southern West Virginia and the New River Gorge have to offer or a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing stay on the river.To get to the home, you will go across railroad tracks, we are near the railroad tracks. It is in a small, friendly neighborhood. You can walk to Sandstone General Store and Eatery to get any necessities you may have forgotten for your trip or get a meal.If you plan to fish, there is also a bait and tackle store. Be sure to have a WV fishing license to be able to fish, though. The Sandstone public river access is right by the house. You may see people going to the river at the public river access as well as people putting their boats in the river.An extra that we provide our guests is access to the Sandstone Landings patio on the river, this is a shared space with our Sandstone Landings guests. It is just a short walk down river from the home. The upper level of the patio is equipped with a dining table and chairs. Lower level of patio has outdoor furniture to enjoy the river view or to sit in while you fish in the New River.Please remember to add your pets to your booking if you will be bringing your furry friends with you.
