Travelodge Ipswich

I didn't think my stay was one that would take me back to this hotel in a long while. The hotel check in was very poor at 1.30am in the morning, finally getting to my room at after 2am. The room wasn't that clean, a lot of noise from outside.

Do not have a room at the front of the hotel, very noisy busy road. I actually thought I had left the window open! Also no soap in dispenser in the bathroom. It is a shame as I have stayed previously at the back of the hotel that was fine for sleeping and comfortable. I won't chance it again.

Oh dear, not a great stay. The traffic noise was really bad, I asked to move to the back side of the hotel which was quieter and was told it was too late. £10 for a breakfast is too much. Ended up having a sleepless night. Have to pay for parking also

Just to set the scene, I’m 73 and was visiting Ipswich fc to watch a game, unfortunately I booked the wrong hotel, I thought I was booking the Travelodge next to the ground, as soon as I realised I asked if we could be transferred to the Travelodge next to the ground, I was told that was not possible, the Travelodge we were at was a 25 minutes walk. When we went to our room we checked our room and found excrement in the toilet, the extractor fan does not work, there was a bulb not working, the hand dispenser does not work and the shower curtain has paint splashing on. The carpet was far from clean and the chair had crumbs in. We reported the toilet to the manageress, Jessica who was kind and considerate , she came up to our room 219 and cleaned the toilet and said after the match we could have a pizza on the house, after the match we received the pizza only to have a meat feast was the worst pizza we have ever had and to cap it all off the road noise was terrible, we thought the window was open. What a shame total waist of £110 the cost of one of the worst hotel stays we have had.

I have been staying at this hotel for work for a couple of months and have always requested a room on the back based on other reviews here. Jess on reception has always made sure to give me a room on the back before I arrive and always quick to serve us on the bar for the 5-7pm happy hour.

Served by Jonathan he was very attentive to us. He answered any questions we had. Was very helpful and friendly. Overall stay was good. Was in town to go to an event so wanted to stay somewhere central. Easy to get around town to the hotel. Will come again
