My notes after a 1 week stay. First we were placed in room 304 (too small for 2 people) then Room 306. The beds are small and the side tables are attached to the wall so you cannot combine beds to make a larger sleeping space. It was difficult as a couple to manage sleeping in that bed. I’m guessing it is a European ‘Queen size’ which is not what we are used to. Other hotels in the same area have King size beds in the rooms. It was not comfortable to sleep in that small bed as a couple. No tost machine for bread at breakfast Lentil soup was extremely oversalted Breakfast staff does not speak English. The lady at breakfast could not understand my room number 304, I had to show her one by one with my fingers. Wi-Fi problems. They have to come up to the room take your phone in their hands and enter the password. They had to do this twice since the actual hotel-guest Wi-Fi does not work. The reception is not competent enough to explain the Wi-Fi instructions in English over the phone. Feb 11th coffee machine was broken, we just stopped going to breakfast after that. Only filter coffee was offered. Wi-Fi never worked with the guest ID number and room number. Hasan at reception is rude and behaves like an uneducated ignorant employee. We understood that Hasan is unprofessional and does not speak or understand English. When I asked for my luggage which was kept in the spare room before departure, he opened the door to the electrical room and had us ladies go in and get our suitcases ourselves. He does not know how to treat female guests properly or help them with their bags. The only professional employees were the cleaning staff and Alp (front desk). I assume that in time this new hotel will sort out it’s team and establish a fully trained professional staff. Maybe Alp can help them create this team. In general this is a clean and efficient business hotel. Competitively priced against the neighboring hundreds of other hotels. Alion has potential to learn and grow from its small issues.
