The Dolon House Bed and Breakfast

Usually when I go for a Bed and Breakfast, I'm thinking more about the bed than the breakfast, so this place was a total revelation. The "bed" portion was certainly great, and Michael and Jeffrey are consummate hosts in all respects, but the breakfast is what sets the place apart. Everything is cooked fresh from the morning haul from local farms and butchers, so each dish is both a culinary delight and an education about surrounding area. You'll learn about the best things to do in Jim Thorpe, the best places to hike, and the most interesting stories about the town, not to mention, all under the roof of one of the town's many historic houses.

All we could have hoped for in historic Jim Thorpe - breakfast by a master chef, a millionaire's home made into a brilliant BnB, an attentive host (kudos, Michael!), a central location to all you want to do, parking on premises, spacious rooms-- really all you could ask for.

We found our time at the Dolon House to be an outstanding experience. From the delectable breakfasts to the very interting furnishings and the informative and knowledgeable owners, our three day anniversary get away was quite memorable.

Absolutely fabulous small Inn by the main street of historic Jim Thorpe. Full of history, and full of decorative memorabilia and art. The breakfasts are something different - three courses plus extras. Incredible! We just love the place!

We recently stayed at the DOLON HOUSE BED & BREAKFAST. It was a fantastic experience. We really loved the Dolon House, and the breakfast was exceptional. This was our first stay; it won’t be our last. We didn’t even miss not having a television in the room. The whole place is beautiful and again it was a great experience.

I have lived and worked in the Jim Thorpe area for over 30 years, but this past weekend I took my wife to town for her birthday to play tourist for a change of pace. We chose to stay from Friday to Sunday afternoon at the Dolan house B&B, renting out the Turret suite, which makes up the room that sits inside its iconic round tower. From that vantage point, you gaze straight down Broadway from above.  In short, the entire adventure was the definition of a 5 Star Experience! Having met Michael and Jeffri before; my expectations were admittedly high, but we were pleasantly surprised to have those expectations FAR exceeded. To begin, you’re in the very heart of Broadway and don’t have to waste a single minute parking, thanks to their ample sized private lot that even my truck pulled right into. Our room…along with the entirety of the house, is meticulously adorned in various pieces from numerous countries around the world! Not a single detail is missed, from the hand selected bottle of red wine sitting on the round table adjacent to the chocolates, to the second spoon set exactly as it should be during the three course breakfast. A breakfast I must add, that was the very best I had ever had.  The Dolan house is like a wonderful sampling of Europe’s fineries. As someone who has studied, worked, and lived in over two dozen countries myself, my standard for quality, novel experiences has its requirements. I was so impressed by the experience, that I would urge not only any tourists coming to town, but locals as well, to share the experience. Our town is lucky to have such great hosts as Michael and Jeffri at the forefront of excellence. For anyone who wants to remember what it’s like to truly enjoy the good old town of Jim Thorpe, book a night or two at the Dolan House B&B and go enjoy!
