The hotel has spacious rooms, a rooftop pool, and a bar. They have various dining options, including their signature restaurant (Aduna Bistro). The location of APM allows you to start your exploration of JoBerg easily. Staff: 5/5 The African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel (APM) staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Welcome drinks, smiles, professionalism, and a great source for local information. All staff members were amazing. Special acknowledgments to Pretty and Mr. D!!! Also, a special shout-out to the lady who delivered the birthday gift to our room. Sorry, we never exchanged names! You know who you are! 😊 Staff makes your hotel; somehow, The African Pride got it right with their entire team. Hotel Room: 4/5 The rooms at the hotel are spacious and beautifully appointed. They have all the amenities you could possibly need, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, well-lit and spacious. The Pride, though kept well, was slightly dated. There should be some type of assessment of each room so that they are able to keep its mystique intact (it’s time to get rid of every DVD player in your hotel… It's ok, no one will notice) Hotel Grounds: 5/5 It’s situated in Melrose, so the hotel grounds are also part of the Melrose in a way though they do have a pool area, which is spectacular. They also have an amazing restaurant attached to them where you can pick up an amazing breakfast before starting your journey touring the sites in Joburg. Location: 5/5 The location in Melrose Arch is a huge plus. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes are within walking distance, so you'll never run out of things to do. Conclusion: 4.75/5 I highly recommend the African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and convenient stay in Johannesburg. You will surely enjoy your stay while you visit JoBerg. Things to be aware of: Power issues plague the entire country. Places like African Pride have backup generators to assist with making your experience more enjoyable. When you have temporary blackouts, it is because the generator is assisting to maintain power to the entire building. Anyone who blames APM for power issues should be more aware of the countries they visit. Le samedi 16 Déc 2023, toute ma famille a décidé de aller à The Marriot pour le petit déjeuner et nous avons prévu d'utiliser notre Prokard pour bénéficier de leur rabais de repas. Nous sommes allés au Marriot à de nombreuses occasions au cours des 4 dernières années et nous n'avons pas eu de problèmes avec notre Prokard et avec le rabais de repas applicable. Tembi le gestionnaire de restaurant nous a arrêtés à l'entrée du restaurant et était adamant que nous ne pouvions pas utiliser notre prokard ....dans il était une excuse qu'il n'y avait pas de tables disponibles quand il y avait beaucoup disponibles. Elle a été détestable et excusée après excuses ......un autre étant que The Marriot est un nouvel hôtel et qu'ils trouvaient encore leurs pieds qui n'était pas vrai. La famille était si déprimée par les arrière-plans et les avant-plans qui ont affirmé que nous n'avions pas apprécié notre petit déjeuner, qui était destiné à être une sortie familiale. J'ai également entendu d'autres clients se plaindre d'être incapable d'utiliser le Prokard ......elle nous a également dit qu'il ne pouvait pas être utilisé pendant les vacances .......elle a fait de telles excuses contradictoires. J' ai appelé lundi ( 11 décembre ) et parlé à Daniel ( le gestionnaire des services ) et il a confirmé que tous les avantages pour le repas sont comme pour tous les hôtels Marriot et que nous sommes accueillis le samedi. Je me suis adressé à Daniel le lundi ( 18 décembre) pour plaindre de ce que nous avons connu le samedi et il l'a transmis à Razeen (un autre gestionnaire) qui n'avait pas la décence de m'appeler avec une excuse et de confirmer ce que les règles sont les avantages de Prokard wrt. Mes conseils aux membres de Prokard ...... garder le Marriot parce qu'ils ne sont pas aussi professionnels et sophistiqués qu'ils prouvent être et plutôt patroniser les autres hôtels Protea. Le séjour est merveilleux! Sam & Janice sont des hôtes spectaculaires, Pat & Shadi sont des femmes fenomenales qui cuisinent un petit déjeuner de tueur! Les chiens sont également très aimables! Je me sens très refroid après mon séjour ici, j'aimais la vibe et me sentait juste à la maison! On se voit bientôt 🌷

Stayed two nights on a mother-daughter trip and had a great time. The location is excellent, in a nice gated area so felt safe walking around and there were tons of nice restaurants and shops around! The room was clean. Kinda weird with the shower outside the bathroom right next to one of our beds, only had a curtain to separate. The staff was all very helpful and friendly! The food was good- be sure to try the milkshakes!
