We stayed at The Glen for two nights. Generally speaking the room was clean, tidy and functional. Pauline was very welcoming and pleasant. Our experience could have been improved by the following; We found ourselves staying in room four, which is very end at of the property and as such it appears the wifi doesn’t reach this far. Leaving us dependent on our phone data packages which made life challenging, given how appalling the mobile phone companies are in this country. The shower over the bath could have been made much safer to use by the addition of maybe one or two grab rails. At the moment there is nothing to hold on to should you slip or suffer from poor mobility. The TV is mounted on the wall to the right of the bed meaning watching this from the comfort of your bed is somewhat difficult not to mention the signal comes and goes but I doubt this is to do with position of the TV. The TV remote was also a challenge to operate through a little plastic bag. Considering we were on a break away from home, the one hour time slot for breakfast was not very relaxing. It was explained that we would not be kicked out of the breakfast room at 9:01 but we still felt that there was an expectation for us for to leave by then. We were also disturbed by the train and it’s close proximity, this of course could be a different experience for others if you are staying in a room further away from the line. The lack of high level sockets was frustrating, we had to reach under the side tables to plug in any devices.
Overall the room felt dated and could have done with a refresh, but of course that is our opinion and every one is different.
