Minette Bay Lodge

This was a beautifully relaxing experience. This lodge is truly an experience to be had! Tucked away in a beautiful bay with ocean frontage around a vast rainforest is luxury comfort. The room was extremely bright and clean with breathtaking views. The hosts were wonderful, very considerate and accommodating. We will be returning.

My wife and daughter came up to Kitimat for Spring Break to see where I work and explore a place unlike any they'd ever been to. We booked two nights at Minette Bay Lodge to wrap up the week so they could unwind before returning home. We made the right choice. Howard and Ruth were an absolute delight. They were welcoming and kind and shared their incredible home with us. It was the off season and there was still quite a bit of snow and ice on the ground so outdoor activities were limited but the library was full of options and the house was warm. They greeted us with tea and got to know us a bit but left us to our own devices and were available if needed. Ruth makes an awesome breakfast and the house and beds are so very comfortable. Though a bit pricey for Kitimat, it's well worth it if you're looking for somewhere quiet, cozy and peaceful. The grounds are amazing and the view is definitely worth the price of admission!

We enjoyed our wellness retreat immensely. The serene setting, cleanliness of the rooms, and hospitality was fantastic. The facilities provided were very useful. We definitely plan on staying there again.

Our first trip to Kitimat and the Minette Bay Lodge exceeded all expectations. The owners are so welcoming and make you feel right at home. The property is set up with several walking paths through the forest that allow you to stretch your legs and provide a serene and peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of busy life. Our accommodations were comfortable with a big comfy bed, pillows, and linens. We enjoyed our two night stay and would highly recommend the Lodge to anyone looking for a more personal, luxurious home away from home PS - the resident English Bull Terrier - Wally, was the cherry on top of a perfect stay. ❤️

The stay with Howard and Ruth was very welcoming, the scenery was beautiful with lots of trials. Ruth cooked a wonderful breakfast every morning. Very clean invirerment. This is our second stay I highly recommend it for friends and family.

We used this venue for our wedding in early June 2023. Ruth and Howard were wonderful hosts and very helpful throughout my wedding planning process! They were very accommodating and made the experience very relaxing for myself as the bride and all of my friends and family. We got access to the venue the afternoon the day before my wedding. We were able to set up and do a rehearsal in the afternoon/evening on the Friday. Myself and my bridesmaids stayed over the night before and got ready in the beautiful lodge the morning of my wedding. We had access to a very large room with great lightening for pictures and make up. Ruth made us a a wonderful beautifully presented breakfast (including mimosas) She was able to accommodate one of my bridesmaid who is gluten free with her own tray of gluten free treats. In the afternoon before my ceremony, Ruth and Howard brought us a tray of delicious snacks and also one for the groom and groomsmen who were getting ready down the hall. After the ceremony, I had my cocktail hour on site with a mobile bar and caterer. The venue has an ocean view from certain areas of the property. I was able to have my ceremony with a partial Oceanview. I did all my bridal party pictures at the venue and we had everything from forest, bridges and ocean. It is a beautiful place to take pictures. It was very important to me that my dogs were apart of my ceremony - Ruth and Howard were happy to let me bring my dogs and let them run off leash and greet my guests! My husband and I stayed at Minette Bay on our wedding night and had breakfast in the morning. Again the food was very delicious! Beds were super comfy - I had a great sleep both nights that I stayed over The property is stunning and the perfect place for a wedding or a little getaway from day to day life. Ruth and Howard were great hosts and were very flexible with any requests that I had.
