Zur Tenne Hotel

Just returned from a family ski trip having stayed at this wonderful hotel . The hotel is very nicely furnished with reclaimed oak and traditional paintings and attention to detail , the bed was very comfortable which helped the aching ski legs ! The staff were so kind all of them ! Amazing Udo who was the restaurant manager ,Gabby and Mia our waitresses who had never ending patience as two of our party have a number of allergies.More than that they made you feel really welcome and lots of banter was shared ! The reception staff were also brilliant booking restaurants for us but after eating at the hotel on day 4 we ate in every night there after !! The breakfasts were such a treat sitting in the beautiful conservatory watching the world go up and down the stunning street ( hotel is in a peach central location )you could eat almost anything from bacon and eggs to smoked salmon beautiful cheeses , yogurts, fruit salads ,so many different breads and pastries !! Breakfast set us up for the day no lunch required ! To save everyone time and asking the million questions I asked , leave your skis in the lockers at the top of the cable car at the end of the day (1 euro coin required )saves carrying them and when you come to rent them the hotel kindly gives you a discount for element ski hire which is great but go to the Element almost opposite the cable car that way you can leave your boots and skis very close to the cable car ! It’s only a 3 minute pretty walk back to the hotel then . I originally wanted to book a ski in ski out hotel but the 3 minute walk was worth staying in such a special hotel .We will most definitely be back . Thank you to all the wonderful staff who maid our stay .Ps the skiing is stunning !!

Hotel Zur Tenne is a pretty and central hotel in the heart of Kitzbühel, which seems to justify its (far too) high prices based on location only. This is a typical 1980’s Tirolean style 3+*/4* hotel which may charm some foreign guests with the typical wooden-clad interiors but is simply out of its league compared to the similarly priced Kutzbühel hotel competition. The bathrooms have not been modernized since the 1980’s (shower in the bathtub…) and the rooms are fine but nothing special. “1980’s style & fine but nothing special” also applies to the small wellness area. For a realistic price, this hotel is absolutely fine but for the actual prices paid, hotels nearby like Kitzhof or Schwarzer Adler offer a far superior product at similar prices, including luxury spa. I heard through the Kitzbühl grapevine that Zur Tenne is planning a major overhaul soon. In the meantime, expect to pay pretentious prices (€20 for room service, anyone?!) for a bang-average product.

We are repeat guests and love the atmosphere at the Zur Tenne. Front reception are always helpful and showed welcome flexibility about our booking given the uncertainty around travel restrictions and testing. We were given a lovely room that we had enjoyed on our previous stay, and I think it was a better category than we had booked. Good is excellent, good buffet breakfast and excellent a la carte as well as half board options available. It’s the team that makes this place special - Udo runs a great team in the bar and restaurant and was full of helpful advice. Maja was a ray of sunshine each morning. And Kristina on reception just made it all so easy. We will be back!
