This was my second solo safari experience and my first time visiting the Maasai Mara National Reserve. I was originally planning on staying at another Asilia property; however, upon learning that property was booked, they recommended Rekero Camp and I decided to give it a try. I had a great experience! This was my first time staying in a tented camp and the experience was great. The tent was extremely comfortable with a large bed, comfortable furniture, and a nice bathroom as well. Additionally, the location right on the river provides relaxing noise for sleeping (with the occasional hippo noise) and great viewing of hippos and other wildlife right from your front porch. The staff at Rekero Camp were truly great. My guide, Joel, was kind and knowledgeable and helped ensure I got to spend time with my favorite animals (including a herd of 50+ elephants). The managers, Timothy and Samuel, were friendly and made sure I had everything I needed throughout my stay. My room was well taken care of by Moses during my stay, including daily cleanings, wake up calls with tea and cookies, and laundry when needed. Additionally, I really enjoyed the food at Rekero Camp. Every meal was something different with influences from other cultures and I loved the variety! Finally, as a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and comfortable at Rekero Camp. They have great staff who will walk you to your room in the morning and at night and make sure you are safely in your tent before leaving. I really appreciated that. I had a great stay at Rekero Camp and would highly recommend the property.
