Marvellous. We were five cyclists nearing the end of Land's End - John O'Groats, and we got a fantastic, warm welcome, excellent accommodation (one of us in there bunk house, four in the hotel proper, all clean and comfy), delicious food - all the staff super friendly, we had dinner and breakfast here and would very highly recommend everything.

Greeted at reception by the ever smiling Cheryll which got us off to a good start. Very quickly signed in and shown to our rooms. The evening meal served by Charlotte was very enjoyable. We couldn't have had a more comfortable nights sleep so no complaints there. Breakfast served by the still smiling Cheryll really set us up for the onward journey. Taking all things into consideration Cheryll and Charlotte made our stay a very pleasant one so thank you ladies for your contribution. Definitely on our list for another visit if we are ever in the area.

With a very warm welcome from everyone after an 8 hour ride from the Northwest of England, I stayed for four nights to explore the NC500 on my motorcycle. I was in the ‘wee’ single room with en-suite at the front of the hotel which was perfectly adequate for my needs and fantastic value. Food and beer in the bar in the evenings was really nice, a very small menu but what I had was excellent. Breakfast was included which was lovely (the black pudding especially was delicious!) and really set me up for the day. Just a small tip for anyone doing a similar trip, the road between Lairg and Tongue is absolutely spectacular - not on the NC500 route but all the better for it so don’t miss it if staying here. All in all I had a great time and many thanks again to Cheryl and the team for looking after me.

Came across this Bunkhouse as a recommendation for our bike packing route (Pictish Trail). Good value for money, we booked a twin room with shared bathroom £30pp per night. The hotel does offer food but as we had a very late arrival we did not have dinner. We did have a drink in the bar and Aubrey and Priscilla were very welcoming. The lounge area has lovely comfy sofas and is a nice place to chill out in the evening too. There is also a games room. The bunk house accomodation was clean and comfortable, the shared bathroom had a good shower and we had everything we needed for our stay. This included secure bicycle storage too. Booked breakfast in the morning with Cheryl one our hosts and we were seated in a The breakfast was easy, choice of cooked with tea/coffee/juice and toast included in the price of £12.50pp. Set us up for the day ahead. Nice to chat with Angus in the morning, Cheryl's husband, the Invershin bunkhouse really did feel like a home from home.

This hotel is well worth staying at. There is a vibrant bar with great beer and food. Although it is a very, very small menu, the food is well cooked and presented. Even in the economy bunkhouse rooms, all is well and the communal lounge is very comfortable. A real find.

Wonderful location, helpful and friendly host, great food and drink, and comfortable bedrooms. Nice selection of drinks. Convenient from the main road which was quiet for all the night. Trains don’t come by until 6! Cuckoos, Owls and Cows!

Wonderful last stop on our bike tour around the North Coast. The pub, with a nice fire, was a welcome respite after a long, rainy, windy day of cycling. Our meals were delicious and the owners very friendly. A billiards room is adjacent to the pub. Plenty of comfy seating in the front room of the hotel. The room was a generous size, with a private bath and places to dry your gear. Bicycles are stored in a locked container on the property, so if you're cycling the North Coast 500 or LEJOG, this is a great place to stay. Hope to stop in again!

After 3 telephone calls from the US, each time being reassured that all was well with our reservation we arrived to find a blackboard in front of the entrance door that read- Very sorry we are closed today. At 4 pm we had to scramble to find somewhere else to sleep. Not fun and absolutely not acceptable. Very regrettable.

What a treasure! This hotel is in a lovely spot. It's very conveniently situated for travel from North/South and for LeJOG cyclist. Part of the hotel is designated a bunkhouse, with more modest accommodation and a shared bathroom. Everything you need and more. Food is served in the bar and is good. Lots of ourdoor seating space and plenty of indoor seating/ relaxing space too.
