Townhouse Leipzig

The Townhouse Leipzig was one of our favorite hotels on our recent Germany and Austria vacation. Set in the heart of Leipzig within one of the oldest Rennaissance buildings in the city, the Townhouse is next door to the Bach Museum and steps away from Thomaskirche and the iconic statue of the great composer. Our top-floor room looked directly out on Thomaskirche and the Bach statue. Upon entering the hotel for the first time, we were impressed by the beautiful style and creativity of the unique decor and lighting, the charming furnishings, and the friendliness of the staff. Our spacious suite was spotless, had a kitchenette, comfortable couches, a nice flat-screen television, a large modern bathroom, quality linens and pillows, and a warm, welcoming message from the staff. Above the king bed was a large reproduction of one of Bach's cantata manuscripts. The windows opened up onto a stunning view of Thomaskirche and the surrounding city. The Townhouse Leipzig offers free high-speed Wi-Fi, a laundry service, a fitness area with workout equipment, a sauna, and a library! The restaurant provides excellent buffet breakfasts. We found several excellent restaurants within easy walking distance, including Johann S Restaurant & Bar a few steps from the hotel. The front desk staff were so helpful assisting us throughout our stay, looking up museum times and tram routes and schedules for us. The rest of the staff throughout the hotel and restaurant were friendly, helpful, and very professional. The price was surprisingly affordable, given the location and the quality of hotel, and the surrounding area was quiet at night. We loved being wakened by the Thomaskirche bells in the morning. The one minor inconvenience is the lack of on-site parking—not surprising given the unique location—but they offer a convenient unloading and loading area for luggage, and we found easy parking adjacent to Thomaskirche a two-minute walk from the hotel. I would not hesitate to recommend this excellent boutique hotel to anyone visiting the city center, and if you're in Leipzig on a Bach pilgrimage and need a great place to stay, look no further.

This was my favorite hotel of my stay. The room had a wonderful view to the Thomaskirche and Bach statue. Best of all the windows opened so I could enjoy a lovely breeze and sounds of the church. Staff were very attentive and nice. Room was nice and clean.

Stepping into the hotel, I loved the beautiful decor. Light, airy and very spacious. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, extremely helpful and very professional. The front desk staff went above and beyond the call of duty to help us. Thank-you!!! The location of the hotel is perfect and the room was very spacious and well equipped with all essentials. I really couldn't ask for anything more and would not stay anywhere else or hesitate recommending this hotel to anyone!! Thank-you for the great stay.

We couldn't have had a better location! It's next door to the Bach Museum and across the square from the St. Thomas Church! When we opened the curtains, the statue of Bach himself greeted us. We were really pleased with our experience!

Great hotel and value for money. We were able to swap our rooms and the front site of the hotel with a beautiful view on the church and the Bach monument. One evening we were enen so lucky to have a real open air concert below our window. Amazing. Staff was very friendly and helpful and rooms were neat and nicely decorated. Price was also very good, through ***********, which I never want to use because hotels prefer direct bookings, but this time the offer of booking wat better. Certainly a place to return to if I go to Leipzig agian.

Super friendly and helpful staff. They make you feel like you are at home! Location is the best in town in a calm area, with the hotelcafé/restaurant right in front of the beatiful Thomas Church. Rooms are spacious, clean and with very nice decor. We will recommend this hotel to everyone who wants a special treat in Leipzig. The room-price is very fair and the experience is so much better than the big hotel-chains. We actually ended up booking a longer stay than we initially planned, all because of the athmosphere on this hotel. Thank you very much Team Townhouse! See you next time. The Hotel is simply perfect, not a real luxury hotel, but a very nice and medium size hotel in the very real heart of Leipzig just on the side of the Duomo. The area is full of good restaurants and bars, 2 minute from the Markt S stration and 10-12 far from the main Train Station.

Ich bin seit Jahren immer mal wieder in diesem Hotel. Jetzt werde ich mal was Anderes ausprobieren. Die Lage ist top und auch das Ambiente ist sehr gut, die Zimmer sind nett eingerichtet. Was mich stört, sind 23€ für ein Frühstück und man muss für eine Cappuccino oder das Ei extra bezahlen. Genau weiß ich was nicht, was von beidem zum Aufpreis geführt hat. O-Saft auch 4,50 extra! Wlan war leider auch sehr schlecht - konnte daher im Hotel nicht verlässlich arbeiten. Mehrere Hilfeversuche des netten Herrn an der Rezeption haben nicht geholfen. Fazit: Da stimmte mal alles für mich - jetzt ziehe ich mal ein Haus weiter.

Nettes Hotel in guter Lage. Hatten über Secret Escapes gebucht. Zimmer war sehr groß mit Balkon (im Erdgeschoss). Sehr hübsches Frühstücksrestaurant. Es gibt Buffet und auch Speisen (teilweise hawaiianisch angehaucht) zu bestellen, die frisch zubereitet werden. War sehr lecker. Auch das Personal war sehr nett - vor allem die blonde junge Dame, die uns auch ein- und ausgecheckt hat. Hotel kann man auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.
