This hotel is the perfect family-owned luxury hotel. We absolutely loved it and it was the highlight of our Austrian vacation. We were there during one of their adults-only weeks in the autumn. My partner also wrote a review on our stay but I couldn’t resist writing my own review to add some details. The hotel is located in a pretty village in the middle of the Tyrol Alps, and the spectacular views over the valley and the Alps are breathtaking. Everything here was exceptional: the decoration was luxurious yet warm and quaint, with lots of beautiful wood paneling; the atmosphere is calm, relaxed and not stuffy; the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful; the food was refined and delicious; and the facilities (pools and saunas) are fantastic. Read on for details. Our room on the side of the hotel, overlooking the Grubig mountain, was very large, warm and cosy, with very nice mountain views from our cute balcony. Upon arrival, a small bottle of sparkling wine, fresh fruits and nuts were waiting for us in the sitting area. The rooms facing the Zugspitze seem to have even better views but we were happy with ours. The ground floor had a nice and cosy bar and lobby with spectacular views over the valley and the impressive Zugspitze massif and the surrounding mountains. The restaurant next to it is beautiful, sophisticated yet relaxed. The breakfast buffet was very generous with several quality cheese and meats, an eggs station, freshly squeezed juice, delicious rustic breads, etc. At night, the 6 course dinner was delicious and refined. In-between, there was a small buffet with soup, salads and desserts served between 1-5. Each room has an assigned table for its entire stay, so you can go for breakfast or dinner at any time within the opening hours, which is nice. The pools and spa areas are breathtaking: there is and indoor-outdoor pool and a separate hot salt water infinity pool overlooking the valley and the Alps. It was very nice to relax in the pool in the cool weather and enjoy the views after a nice hike. The saunas area is impressive, with several different wet or dry saunas. The panoramic sauna, with large windows overlooking the mountains, was especially nice. Everything was very well maintained and clean. All saunas were mixed and the dress/undress code was well indicated in each area to avoid confusion (this was useful for us Canadians since we were unsure of the codes). The hotel organizes several activities, but we could easily walk on our own for hours in the beautiful valley surrounded by the Alps directly at the hotel doorstep. The quality of the service was exceptional: everyone we talked to was very friendly, professional and helpful, from Bernard, the colorful barman, to our waiter Justin and Regina at the front desk. We highly recommend this hotel and we hope to go back. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.
