Castello di Limatola

It was amazing to have the experience of staying at a castle. Staff were extremely focused on providing a great experience. We had dinner and breakfast during our overnight stay. Both meals were excellent. It is an enchanting place. However, finding our way there was a bit difficult. We did finally figure out how to make it to the main reception area. Our room was comfortable and well appointed and the bed was absolutely perfect.

I was thrilled to stay at a castle! It was somewhat hard to find the office; we weren't sure how far to drive up and in. The grounds are beautiful, and I can imagine lovely events at the various venues. (We explored all over.) Our room had a very cool mix of old and new. Although for two retirees, the box-based bed was difficult. The staff were very helpful. I would recommend staying here.

The best place where to stay in real ancient castle. The furniture and rooms are very comfortable. The best over all are the people that works in the reception. A special thank to Mr. Mina a very professional guy that speaks several languages, know how to make special your stay and always available for any ask and find exactly what you need.

Upon arrival in Limatola we followed our satnav to the hotel, when the satnav eventually stopped there was no clear signage as to where to go next but with Google maps on air view we managed to work this out and continued up the hill through a small arch way - we had an Audi A4 but anything bigger wouldn’t have made it to the car park. Upon getting out the car we headed to what we thought must be the hotel but we ended up wandering around for ages as there is no clear signage to the reception area. Eventually we found reception and managed to check in, the chap didn’t really speak any English at all and we had a fair hike with no lift to our room. The room was really dark with hardly any windows, the bathroom was tiny and again had barely any light at all, the room felt cold and even more basic than the pictures had shown prior to booking. There was certainly no fancy lighting in the bathroom and we had booked a Junior Suite - which this room certainly was not. Our room was located around what was probably the old dining hall and the hotel had covered the open air section in a plastic tarpaulin, it was very windy and this was making a really loud slapping noise which could be constantly heard in the room. The restaurant appeared closed and the minibar only had water or Prosecco so we decided to walk into town - there was no staff anywhere to be seen in the hotel and as other people have commented there appeared to probably be a wedding on that weekend. Limatola was like a ghost town, what there was was closed & there was nobody anywhere, we visited on a Saturday so we’re a little surprised by this. When we eventually got back to the hotel we decided to checkout straightaway and stay elsewhere, upon checking out the staff couldn’t have cared less and didn’t ask why we were leaving when we had only arrived a short while ago. It was such a shame as the castle from the outside is stunning but unfortunately the rooms feel unloved and uninspired, the hotel has potential to be beautiful but it appears they care more for the money from weddings than the accommodation they provide. We ended up staying in the close by town of Caiazzo, as this is where we had dinner booked & it was incredible, a gorgeous typically Italian town with a beautiful Airbnb, shops, cafes and a bank.

Capitati quasi per caso in questa bellissima struttura abbiamo avuto la fortuna di provare l’esperienza dei mercatini dell’Alto Adige in Campania…la struttura è un castello medievale ristrutturato in maniera sapiente che nel periodo natalizio ospita i mercatini natalizi offrendo anche un’ampia scelta di punti di ristoro. Il personale dell’albergo gentile e competente si è prodigato per esaudire le nostre richieste, insomma un ottima esperienza

Siamo stati un sabato pomeriggio con prenotazione biglietti 15€ nel periodo natalizio. Arrivati sul posto abbiamo parcheggiato nel parcheggio convezionato molto distante per poi aspettare la navetta a pagamento che ci portasse al castello. Il castello è bellissimo anche l atmosfera ma troppa affluenza che non ti permette di goderti il posto o vedere le bancarelle. Peccato forse consiglio di andare durante la settimana ps vestitevi pesante perché fa freddo sopratutto perché c’è da aspettare la navetta
