Albergo Soldanella

This lovely albergo was a perfect place to stay in Madesimo. We really could not fault it. Family-run by lovely people who can't do enough for you, perfectly located for the pistes and ski-hire, really great regional food in truly abundant and generous quantities. We couldn't even tear ourselves away to go for apres-ski anywhere else - the drinks were reasonably priced and served with an array of nibbles on the side. Barbara, her family and team are so kind and welcoming, and they work so hard to make your stay the best it can be, as do all the staff. There is a convenient ski locker outside and boot cupboard inside, where everything seems very safe and secure. It was our first time skiing in Madesimo and we liked it very much as a resort, fairly quiet and not overcrowded, although maybe because it's small, so probably only enough for 3-4 days. We will definitely go again anyway. The only downside for us - and absolutely no fault of the hotel - was a party of noisy Brits who sometimes had the unwelcome effect of dominating the atmosphere in the dining room and bar area, some nights until all hours, much to our annoyance and embarrassment as a British couple. The hotel staff were very patient in the circumstances. It all seemed to be much to the bewilderment of an even larger group of much quieter Romans, who seemed to manage to have a perfectly good time without impinging on the experience of others.

Barbara and her family do everything to ensure you get maximum enjoyment during your stay. Comfortable lovely clean rooms have all you need while the food is sumptuous. Amazing buffet breakfast and a great atmosphere in the evening. Not forgetting the gondola station is a snowball throw away! Can’t wait for next year.

Barbara and all the family and staff are truly amazing . Nothing is too much trouble We have been coming to Madesimo for 28 years and the hotel we usually stay at has sadly closed so a change was a worry However , what an absolute gem . From the warm welcome on arrival to the find farewell tour stay is everything you want it to be We stayed in late covid times , masks were worn by all staff , sadly not all guests but that’s not the hotels fault . Plenty of cleaning and sanitising constantly . Hand sanitiser gel in all public areas as well as in the room The rooms was superb . Ample size for us plenty of storage room . The bathroom amenities were a lovely unexpected gesture . The towels lovely and ample size We slept like logs every night despite being on the main square . Large ski storage area and boot cupboard too The food was superb and a great choice for all . Breakfast was self service and again a great choice We really cannot wait to return
